The aim of these tours is to show people that Tra Que Vegetable Village is an authentic, timeless place which has much to offer the tourist and should be visited, advertised and popularized.

Tra Que Minty Garden is a local Vietnamese family-run business managed by Le Van Hai, known as Danny, who has more than 16 years in the hospitality industry as a Western Sous Chef and as an Executive Chef. Tra Que Minty Garden specializes in organizing farm-to-table cooking classes and farming tours.

Tour Includes:

Pick up from the hotel
Go by bicycle or motorbike (with driver) to the colorful market: learn about different products and ingredients used in cooking session.
Continue to Tra Que Vegetable Village, know about the different kinds of veggies and herbs, and the history, culture and people of Tra Que.
Work with the Chef and learn how to prepare and cook some local Vietnamese dishes.
Enjoy self-prepared meal.
Back to the hotel

Schedule

Morning Session

9:00 am: Pick-up at the hotel.
9:10 am: Visit Hoi An's colorful market tour by bicycle /motorbike: Opportunity to interact with the local vendors and learn about different products and ingredients to use in the cooking session later.
10:00 am: Carry on with our trip to Tra Que Herb Village. Take a rest with a special welcome drink and enjoy the nice breeze from the vegetable garden.
10:45 am: Cooking session: learn about the ingredients and our traditional methods of preparing and cooking 3-4 Vietnamese dishes as in menu.
12:00 pm: Enjoy your self-prepared meal with some more dishes cooked by Chef.
1:00 pm: Back to the hotel.

Pickup Option

Pick-up at your hotel within Hoi An City. *Please arrange transportation yourself if you stay outside Hoi An City. We can help to arrange but a fee will be settled by guests.

"Delicious and fun!"

The class with Chef Danny was a blast. We were whisked away by scooter to the market where we learned a bit more about the things for sale and Danny picked out some of the ingredients we’d be using later that night. Back at his place we jumped right in to cooking, and Danny taught us to make a delicious Vietnamese menu all while keeping us entertained. In the end we had a lot of fun and the meal was totally delicious. Thank you, Chef Danny and your family for welcoming us into your home for this experience. Highly recommend!

Danny and his wife were fantastic, the market experience was really interesting & the actual cooking class a lot of fun and really easy. Great for all age groups and I would highly recommend.

So glad we booked this class. We had a great experience. The chef and his wife took us to the markets to choose the food and then back to there home to prepare the meal. Lots of hands on preparation and explanation. Not just watching. Learnt it and thoroughly enjoyed eating the food..especially the dipping sauce.....we were so full after. Loved the hospitality and there son was so entertaining while we ate.

"AMAZING!"

Chef Danny and his wife greeted us on their motorbikes at our hostel and took us to the local market. Danny showed us the different vegetables, meat, and fish they sell at the market. He even picked up some veggies and shrimp that we would use in the meal we were cooking last night. We then went to his garden where Danny picked some herbs and lettuce we would use while cooking. The whole cooking experience was so much fun and so intimate as it was just me, my boyfriend, and Danny’s family in his home. After cookin we ate our meal and everything tasted delicious! Once we were finished eating we took some final photos and Danny emailed us some of the pictures his wife took of us, the recipies, and some of Danny’s favorite pictures from Hoi An in general. Overall it was definitely a highlight of our time in Vietnam! 10/10 would recommend!!!
