Local Market, Basket Boat and Lantern-Making Experience with Culinary Class in Hoi An

Join our tour, it is the perfect way to explore and get closer to the local life of the fisherman people here. You will experience a local colorful market, learn how to deal with the local sellers and learn all the ingredients for the meals. Ride a basket boat for 45 minutes around the forest to explore the river channels of the Cam Thanh community, and enjoy coracle boat performances by locals which are exciting.

You will be provided instruction from the local fisherman, learn how to make souvenirs from palm leaves, enjoy boat shaking and crab-catching, and attend a lantern-making class.

There will also be a cooking class course by the local host and lastly, enjoy Vietnamese foods made by yourself.

Schedule

• 8:30 AM: Our guide will meet you at your hotel and go to explore a local colorful market, learn how to deal with the local sellers, and buy ingredients for the cooking class.
• 9:30 AM: A car will take you to Phu Lanh Travel. You will enjoy a welcome drink, then go to Cam Thanh Coconut Palm Village. The guide will provide brief information about the village as well as the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, local families, and the community before you board on coracle boat. It is time for you to jump on a basket boat for a funny 45-minute ride around the forest to explore the Thu Bon river channels and enjoy coracle boat performances by local artists. After that, you will be entertained by how to make souvenirs from palm leaves, boat shaking, and crab-catching.
• 10:15 AM: Return to Phu Lanh Travel, take a short time to refresh then get ready for lantern-making class. The guide will take a brief introduction about the history, shape, and color of the lanterns as well as the stages of making them. Then, you can make your lantern and bring it home as a souvenir.
• 10:45 AM: You will be joined to a cooking class course by a local host. They will show you how to cook some of the local specialties and then enjoy the meal 
• 1:00 PM: End of the experience. Our car will take you back to the hotel.
