I'm a Japanese person living in Taiwan. I used it when my mother came on a trip. I had a lot of fun making delicious sweets. I want to try making other sweets next time!
Love the recipe, staff assistance and experience throughout. It was the best experience for me as first timer baker. Worth the visiting here.

The step by step instructions made the whole process much easier than I thought for preparing Chinese style flaky pastry. Big thumbs up. The staffers were friendly and always ready to help. I was concerned that the English instruction wasn't detailed enough (eg, mix the ingredients vs. cutting the butter into the flour), but the end results from my family's were great. It shows how forgiving (and good) the recipe is! I thoroughly enjoyed the morning and would recommend it to everyone, baking novice and experienced baker.
The processes and tricks to make were explained well. I was able to learn how to cook Taiwanese dishes that are easily prepared again when I return to my country. The best time spent in Taiwan!
This cooking class was one of the highlights of our stay in Taipei. We learned how to make Xiao Long Baos from scratch, cooked Beef Noodles, prepared Cucumber Salad and Boba Milk Tea. We had loads of fun. Teacher Angela is a great teacher. She was very entertaining, not to mention the tons of tips she gave us in making these dishes. We also had the chance to meet Ms. Chelsea Tsai, author of "Taste Taiwan". Got her book and had it signed as well. Overall, it was a great opportunity to learn and enjoy Taiwanese cuisine.
I took this class hoping to learn XLB. I learned that and more (all the other dishes). This class was well-organized and paced properly.

Most of the class was spent on making Xiao Long Bao from scratch, which I would say is challenging to most beginner cooks; one person in the class complained about how difficult it was the entire time. Personally I enjoyed the difficulty, and the instructor did a great job explaining every step. Also made cucumber salad from scratch. Felt like there was less emphasis placed on the beef noodle soup, they showed us how to make the stock but nothing about the noodles or plating at the end. The bubble tea also was not made from scratch, it was more of a history lesson and explanation on how to make it at home. Overall I had fun, and the instructor was very friendly and patient with us.
I had such a fun time during this class! Not only did we get to learn so many different Taiwanese cooking techniques, our teacher was also so nice and kept the class engaging and fun. After making my own xiolongbao and seeing how much work goes into it, I hold a new appreciation for their juicy and steamy deliciousness.
Angela was a great instructor. She was funny and entertained us well during the course. The foods we cooked were amazing. The XiaoLingBao is obviously the most time intensive, but the result tasted better than most that I bought in Taiwan. The beef noodle soup is more simple, but Angela’s comments were really helpful. I can’t wait to make this dish. The salad was nice and simple, and the bubble tea was fresh and not too sugary. Apart from that it was nice to chat a bit, Angela (I promised her to mention her name 3 times) had some interesting stories to tell, both privately and about Taiwanese culture. She has also a decent outsider view, having lived abroad many years. All in all a great class, and I can’t wait to cook the dishes at home. Thank you Angela (I hope 4 times won’t bring you bad luck, so let’s make it 5: Angela).
The class was well-paced and organized. The instructions were friendly and made sure everyone was enjoying. It was a great introduction to Taiwanese cooking, and I learned a few techniques that I can use for my own cooking. It was fun, I'd definitely be back next time I'm in Taipei!
Perfect! One of the best cooking classes I've ever taken. Loved all the dishes and the sunlit, relaxing space. Recommend this 10/10, one of the highlights of my trip to Taipei.

Our market tour and class with Chelsea was wonderful! They had a very well planned schedule and prep. We first went on a tour of the local market and Chelsea introduced us to many vendors and explained the seasonal products. When we returned, we had a class on soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, cucumber salad and bubble milk tea. Everything was well prepared and explained as we were led thru each phase of cooking these dishes. At the end we sat down to dine. I highly recommend this class if you want to learn some delicious Taiwanese cuisine- I will definitely take another class here and have already recommended it to friends!

Chelsea was an amazing teacher! When she takes you to the market, she will offer many details about the vendors and their products. I had been to traditional markets before, but knowing about the people who work there makes it much more authentic. The technique she shows you to make xiao long baos yields delicious and perfect little buns even for a first timer. If you're vegan, do not worry as you will be able to have all the dishes with vegan ingredients!
We had the chance to experience a nice time in a typical taiwanese market with lot's of information from an insider ! You can wether follow chelsey in the market or wander around and catch up with the group later. Chelsey will help you to choose products with pleasure and will share her experience of this kind of market. The course in itself was a pure moment of sharing and learning. Chelsey is an excellent cook and an even better teacher.
The class was wonderful! Going to a local market with Chelsea, our instructor, was a great opportunity to ask lots of questions and learn more about local ingredients. The cooking class was lovely, with simple steps and a bright, tidy work space. The food we made was so delicious! Absolutely everything was tasty and fresh. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to experience Taiwanese food with a local to guide you!
I have taken three classes with Cookinn. The instructors and the founder, Chelsea are all great. It is fun to visit the market with the instructors. They know most of the vendors and point out different interesting tidbits. The classes move along at a good pace. The thing I like the most are their recipes. They are well thought out and tested. I’ve made most of the dishes at home already. Even my wife is asking if they have more classes I can take. Well done Cookinn! One thing to note is that they have moved and may move again. Make sure to double check the address before heading to class.
The class was wonderful! It was paced well so everything was totally understandable and doable. Diana was a great teacher--very informative and friendly. The facilities are beautiful, and the resulting food was delicious! I felt really proud of myself for what I made.

I really enjoyed my time at CookInn. I was lucky to be the only one in the class - so was looked after very well. The food was delicious and I learnt so much about Taiwanese cooking, cuisine and culture. When I come back to Taiwan I will definitely try another class.
First time to join this class. Instructor's Diana shown & guided us to local market. She explained that Taiwan food & their culture to us. After back to class, she attentive to teach us how to cook the dishes. All the class's staffs are really friendly.
한국분들 참고 하시라고 한국어로 작성하겠습니다! 우선 외국에서는 첫 쿠킹클래스였는데요, 저는 아침 시장 투어가 포함된 코스로 참여했습니다! 우선 선생님이 너무너무 좋으셔서, 시장 구경 자체도 너무 즐겁게했습니다! 시장투어 뭐 별거있겠어 했었는데 중간중간 시식도 해보고 제철과일은 뭐고 각 가게별 특징도 설명해주셔서 너무 재밌었습니다! 그리고 최근에 클래스 장소를 옮기셔서 시설이 굉장히 깔끔하고 좋았습니다:-) 샤오롱바오 만드는 것도 재밌었구요, 그외 우욱면의 경우에는 시간이 오래걸려서 기본적인 오래걸리는 건 세팅해두시고 다함께 보면서 참여하는 형식이라 오히려 전 더 재미있었습니다! 가격이 좀 있긴하지만 음식도 맛있고 여러가지 문화적인것도 알 수 있어서 전 너무 만족합니다!
It was a wonderful and fantastic experience. The studio is easy to find. Its clean and neat. The staff are very friendly and informative. The instructor was very knowledgeable, straight to the point teaching. No any clumsy hand from me to complete the making of the dishes. The dishes we made were amazingly good in tastes. Really enjoy the class and would recommend anyone visiting Taipei to attend.

Teachers are supernice and they explain everything!! I learned a lot in this cooking lesson. It s expensive but worthy. First we went to the market and buy things for cooking. Also we try a tipical taiwanese breakfast! Then the cooking lesson and finally eat. Everything was delicious! I recomend it a lot. Thanks

I really loved this class, the teachers were very kind and helpfull and we had a great time. I have a few pointers on how (at least for me) it could be even better :-) 1) an introduction of everyone in the class with name and nationality would be nice. We were after all spending half a day together, and I felt like I never really got to talk to the others because I didn't even know their names. 2) The class could be 1 hour longer, I felt a few times that we were rushing a bit to make it in time, and we ended up going 20 minutes over anyway.
Chelsea is really passionate about food and likes to share her knowledge. We learnt a lot in this class and had a lot of fun. The prepared dishes were simply delicious and we not only got the recipes afterwards but also many pictures taken by Chelsea whilst we were cooking. I highly recommend this cooking class and will book it again if we return to Taipei somewhen.
From the moment I entered "COOK IN," it was a really pleasant and enjoyable time. Especially, it was good to go to the local market and listen to the manager's story and go around and experience the market. And it was also impressive that people from all over the world could get together and become one. + P.S. Of course, I enjoyed cooking, too. Thank you for giving me and my friend unforgettable time.
The booking site said our class ended at 1, but that wasn’t including eating time, and we had made plans at 1, so we couldn’t finish our meal. Which was sad considering we had made such good food. Everything else was perfect. My daughter came who is 11 and LOVED it.
영어를 잘 못하지만 항상 여행을 가게 되면 쿠킹클래스를 합니다. 영어를 못해도 즐겁게 할 수 있는 그 나라를 즐기는 방법중 하나이기 때문입니다. 가격대가 좀 높아서 처음에는 고민을 했었지만 수업을 받고서는 금액이 조금도 아깝지 않다는 생각이 들었습니다. 제가 신청한 시간은 오전 시간으로 직접 시장에 가서 장을 보고 가는 중간중간 근처의 장소들을 설명해주어 미니 투어를 온 듯한 느낌을 받았습니다. 그리고 직접 만든 샤오룽바오, 오이김치 ,버블티 , 만들어주신 우육면 너무 다 맛도 있었습니다. 나중에는 레시피북에 찍은 제 사진을 붙여 선물해 주셨는데 생각지도 못한 선물을 가져가 너무 좋았습니다. 한국분들 대만 여행 많이 가시는데 혹시 특별한 추억을 남기고 싶으신 분들이 있다면 강추드립니다^^
What a beautiful cooking class!!! First of all, I have to say thank you for beautiful teachers, Vivian san and Dianna san!!! You guys are amazing teachers!!! I'll never forget your kindness!!! On the day, we directly met at cooking school. To find the place is super easy!!! The school is located very close to Zhongshan Park and Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall!!! As soon as we met, the teachers took us to the local market which has 50 years history!!! The market was very lively with full of local atmosphere!!! We could even interact with some locals and taste a little food there!!! After the market tour, we cooked xiaolongbao, beef noodle, cucumber salad and tapioca milk tea!!! The class went to so smooth because of the amazing teachers and lovely people I met in the class!!! Every food we cooked was so amazingly tasty and so fun to make!!! Especially, to make xiaolongbao was very difficult, but the teachers helped me so kindly, so I could make the almost satisfied one(I definitely need to practice much much much more) Besides, all dishes are possible to remake at home!!! In addition, the class was conducted in English, Mandarin and Japanese, so no language barrier!!! I definitely wanna come back here and learn different dishes next time!!! My first experience to go to local wet market in Taiwan. Our teacher, Diana introduced local ingredients and fruits to us. She is good in teaching. She explained every cooking step and provided alternative method to us in making the bao. The class was not easy but the teacher and two assistants offer great help to make me success. The class is fun, the classmates and teacher are nice! An unforgettable experience!!
We did the Xiao long nap,beef noodle, and boba tea class. The max capacity seems to be 10, which we had but it wasn't crowded or rushed at all. I think we would make all the dishes again since they gave us each a personalized recipe book. Highly recommend!

My 17 year old son and I really enjoyed the class. The discoveries and explanations given during the market tour were useful. We had a great time learning the tricks of making the xia long bao (we’ll have to practice a little more though!). And it was fun tasting everything at the end. All that in pleasant company! Thanks, we’ll keep a very good memory of that morning in Taiwan 🇹🇼
Chelsea was a wonderful host and incredibly knowledgeable about Taiwanese food and culture. She knew everyone in the market and showed us things we couldn’t have seen on our own. The food we made was local and delicious but not too complicated; we’ll be making these dishes at home. Chelsea even gave us some great local reccs for the rest of our trip. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning, I can’t recommend it more!
The cooking class was super fun! We first enjoyed a walk through the market, and got explanation for everything we saw. Back at the class, we learned how to make Beef Noodle and Xian Long Bao. The teachers took care of everybody and gave great advices. The food was delicious! Thank you for this great experience!
What I liked: I liked the market tour in the beginning of the class. The market is mostly visited by locals and less known to tourists so I felt it was authentic. I also liked how interactive the class was! The teacher was very patient. What to know: The class is at least 4 hours. Come with an empty stomach because the meal at the end was very filling! Good for: Beginners! If you want o learn how to make bubble tea and dumplings, this class is good for you. The personalized recipe book at the end of the class was a nice touch. How to get there: Uber or train. Transportation in Taipei is very accessible

This cooking class was so much fun. We were brought to a local market place and were introduced to all sorts of local ingredients that Taiwanese people use. Once back in the kitchen, Chelsea was a great teacher and was patient with us as we made our own Xiao Long Bao. At the end of the experience, we had a great meal with everything we created. Lastly, Chelsea made us each a personalized recipe book. It was very cute and had all the instructions so we could make everything at home. Highly recommend this class!
