We really enjoyed our class with Mohammed and Lubnah. This was a real window into homemade Moroccan food; it's been the best food we've had during our stay in Marrakesh, hands down. Both were incredibly friendly, funny and informative. They took the time to answer our questions, let us taste as we went along and of course got us to take notes so we could replicate everything faithfully when we get back home (they also gave us a nice print out of the recipes). Plus, they did all of this during Ramadan. We got to enjoy our meals afterwards in the beautiful Riad Jona.
Labnouh and Mohamed (translator) guided us through the preparing of the salad and chicken and meat. It was very nice to do such an activity together. We enjoyed eating it a lot 2! With a fine wine. Great experience. We got some recipes but although they were not quite the same as we did it, I managed to make it tonight at home. Labnouh is a very sweet gentle cook-instructor!
I originally booked this class last minute because a lot of the larger and more established classes were booked out. Ultimately, I had a wonderful private class. Whilst the chef had only basic English, communication was not a major issue. We were able to observe techniques, get advice, and learn multiple recipe's; however if you want more intricate explanations then this may not be for you. The class takes place in then kitchen of a beautiful riad, and it was a delight to dine there afterwards. Overall, I had a very enjoyable cooking class, and what wasn't able to be conveyed due to language barrier, was clarified to us in the recipes that they gave to us at the end of the class.
We made a last minute request for a cooking class for three people in Marrakech. They were able to accommodate our request. Cooking class was held at Riad Juna. It was led by Chef Judia and our interpreter was Abdul. It was an amazing experience for the three of us. My daughter made a lamb tajine and my wife and I made chicken tajine. The whole process including making bread and an appetizer took over two hours. Chef Judia was very patient with us and helped us at every step. In the end we were seated at the dining hall and was able to have dinner with the food me made. It wa stage most delicious meal we ever had during our trip. We are extremely thankful for the Riad Juna, Chef Judia and Abdul. We recommend this experience quite highly for anyone who visit Marrakech. Book early and enjoy
The class was excellent! It was hands on, Chef was very informative and generous with her talents, and the interpreter fluent and knowledgeable. Afterwards, we ate the delicious meal we helped cook on the upper terrace of the Riad and it was magical. All said, wonderful evening. We appreciated that the interpreter called prior to class to confirm that we eat chicken and lamb. Importantly, he promised to send recipes for the food we prepared with Chef and we are very excited to try them at home. This was our first experience with the Cookly which we found to be an excellent platform; will use it again on our next trip and refer family and friends. Also, email communication was timely and effective.
The experience was great! We learnt how to prepare mint tea, bread, chicken tagine and lamb tagine. Lovely Riad inside Marrakesh and a great way to learn more about Moroccan cooking in a calm environment away from the hustle and bustle! Highly recommend doing this cooking course!
The cookinng chef was very patient, friendly and the atmosphere was great.
Class was great as far as the variety of food we got to cook just ashame we were not provided with the recipes to take home or that our instructor could not speak much English.
We had lots of fun at the cooking class and made some delicious food that we will definitely try to do at home as well. The staff of Riad Jona was very lovely and even packed our leftovers since we had so much food. Merci Beaucoup!
Our party of 3 were looking for a slightly less involved cooking class for the evening. All of the others we found involved a trip to the souks to buy the ingredients and it weren't what we were looking for. This class however, was perfect! The hosts at the Riad were extremely accommodating and the Vegetable tagine we cooked was beautiful. My favourite part was making the flatbread !
We had a great in and the class was very informative and we'll run we have recommended the class to other people in our group an excellent day good value for money
We had a wonderful time learning how to cook a traditional Moroccan Tajine, the chef was an incredibly patient and passionate teacher. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be cooking Tajines at home!
The class far exceeded our expectations. It was educational and fun from start to finish. The chef was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. He helped us understand what it meant to cook a meal, the details he went into were fantastic and the food was deliciously out of this world. He helped us make and combine authentic and delicious spices so we could make it at home as well. The food, Moroccan classic dish, we made was very flavorful. It was amazing! The class was really great!
Wir haben viel gelernt und gelacht in dem Kochunterricht. Haben sehr nette Leute vom Riad Jona kennen gelernt. Haben nicht nur viel Spaß beim kochen gehabt, sondern auch unser selbstgekochtes Essen im Riad genossen. Wir können den Kochkurs im Riad Jona nur weiter empfehlen.
