Cooking with a Local Organic Farmer with Market Visit

wonderful experience. He picked us up on time, right down to the minute. Not everything for the cooking class is bought at the market, so there is more time to explain and demonstrate. The cooking class then takes place at his home after a short tour of his garden. Da was always present and told stories without being intrusive. The spiciness of the food can be adjusted and the dishes are super tasty. There were two of us, and he said he had already given courses for one participant. Highly recommended to anyone who would like to have an authentic cooking class.

We've enjoyed the experience a lot. Mister Da has picked us up from the hotel, brought us to the market and explained about the local groceries, and then we arrived at his farm where we could see how some of the local herbs grow. Mister Da guided us through every step of cooking a full lunch and answered every question. The open kitchen at the farm is really nice. And all the dishes turned out really tasty! Overall, very recommended!

This cooking class was an amazing cultural experience. Da, the local organic farmer, took us to the market first to get some of the ingredients. Then, we went to his house where he taught us how to cook 5 different dishes. The setting was outdoors under his covered patio, and he gave us great insights with his expertise. To top it, Da had a great demeanor. He was professional and a lot of fun.

We booked a 1/2 day class “Da” our instructor picked us up right on time and We rode in the back of his truck to his farm. He showed us his garden with the herbs he uses. We chose and cooked 4 Dishes each. Sooo good. We were picked up about 8:30am an returned about 2 pm. Good value.

We had a blast - starting with the market tour and Da explaining the ingredients and where they come from - to "exploring" his garden and tasting different local herbs we would later use for cooking our meals. The cooking class itself was organized well and every step was explained in detail. We had a wide range of dishes to chose from and they could be adapted to each individuals preferences regarding spiciness. After cooking we could all enjoy a tasty meal together. Really great experience which grants some insights into the local cuisine.

It was a great time with Da to have a market tour together and get detailed explanation on the ingredients and recipes. Having a time in Mr Da’s own farm was also wonderful. It was so fun to learn how to cook Thai food and taste the food that I made on my own in a local place with a local cooking teacher. So great!

My family members enjoyed Da's class a lot ! He showed some herbs in his farm and gave a chance to us to smell and touch them. also the food was also very delicious. But there is no air conditioner so you need to ready to sweat :-)

This experience was so special it blew our minds! Da our chef/rice farmer is a lovely humble man. After taking us to tour the market for food, he took us to his home on stilts, over a fish pond in the quiet rice paddy's outside of town and we met his family and cooked 4 brilliant tasty dishes. Before we cooked we toured his garden to try all the fruit, veg, and herbs he grows. Da was patient and kind and the food was so tasty! So good! This was a really touching experience we loved, so authentic and not forced. Its a 10/10 for me and I would recommend it to everyone. Simply brilliant!

Eine der besten Erfahrungen die wir in Thailand gemacht haben!! Nachdem wir von unserem Hostel abgeholt wurden sind wir auf den Wochenmarkt gefahren und dort wurde uns alles liebevoll auf gutem Englisch erklärt. Sachen die wir nicht direkt kannten durften wir sogar probieren. Die Hauseigene Gartenführung im Anschluss war auch super interessant :) Der zweistündige Kochkurs war sowohl für mich als Kochbegeisterten, als auch für meine Freundin die überhaupt nicht gerne kocht, eine super Erfahrung. Alles wird Schritt für Schritt erklärt und ein kleines Highlight ist, dass die meisten Zutaten aus dem eigenen Garten kommen. Meines Wissens können auch maximal 6 Personen gleichzeitig teilnehmen, was sehr angenehm ist. Das selbst gemachte Essen danach war super lecker und sah besser aus als in jedem Restaurant. Das einzige Problem war das es viel zu viel war aber wir durften den Rest einfach mitnehmen :) Als nettes Andenken bekommt man am Ende noch ein kleines Büchlein (in dem übrigens alle Rezepte nochmal drinstehen). Alles in allem können wir nur jedem empfehlen der sich in Chiang Mai aufhält diesen Kochkurs zu besuchen! :)
