You can learn how to cook authentic and healthy Japanese home meals in an intimate atmosphere as if you were cooking with your old friend. As the host has abundant overseas experience, so all the dishes she teaches to cook are easy to make almost anywhere outside of Japan. You will also have detailed recipes written in English.
Please choose one class from below. In each class the menu usually includes a main dish, 2 side dishes, soup and a delicious Japanese dessert. Menu can be customized by requests.Any dietary restrictions, kindly note upon booking. I usually discuss with customers what to cook before I accept a booking request.
1. Chirashizushi class
Chirashizushi, also known as scattered sushi served with colorful toppings, is cooked for celebrating special occasions such as festivals and family celebrations. It is also good for Obento, a fancy box lunch. Learn how to make it so that you can surprise your family and friends at your home with your own beautiful Chirashizushi.
Alternatively, we can make Sushi rolls instead of Chirashizushi.
2. Tofu variation class
Tofu, also known as soybean curd, is eaten in many ways in Japan, such as raw, stewed, fried, in soup, with other ingredients such as meat/seafood/vegetables. Tofu can be used even in sweet dishes as well. Learn how to cook Tofu in several ways and find how differently delicious each dish tastes!
3. Okonomiyaki class:
Okonomiyaki is a savory Japanese pancake containing a lot of shredded cabbage and various other ingredients such as pork or seafood. The word 'Okonimiyaki' literally means 'Grill as you like' or 'Grill what you like'. Take it easy and have fun cooking Okonomiyaki on the dining table.
*’Vegetarian’ means no meat and no fish.
**‘Muslim-friendly’ means no meat and no alcoholic condiments. If meat is used, we use halal meat.
