We had such a great time, from start to finish. The organization was very slick, a really well-oiled machine. We were collected from our hotel, and then because we took the morning class we went to the market. Our driver /guide explained some of the foods to us, and we had the opportunity to buy spices, tea, and coffee. After that, we went to the cooking school, which is professionally kitted out with room for maybe 20 people. You can make a meat/fish, vegetarian, or vegan meal, as you like. The food you cook is what you eat, so you can adjust the spice and seasoning levels to your taste. The staff explain how to do everything, and are always on hand if you need help. After you've cooked, you sit down to enjoy your dishes and have the recipes to take home with you to recreate your holiday in your home kitchen. I would highly recommend this class.

Our experience at this cook school was amazing. The teacher was very good at being able to custom the instructions to everyone’s ability. Our food was so delicious. I’ll definitely go home and recreate.

Ketut’s cooking class was a fantastic experience. The food we made was delicious and they give you the recipes to take home. Staff were awesome and made the experience so much more enjoyable. It is hands on with the prep but with some of the dishes they cook the food for you while you make the dish, which we liked as we didn’t want to spend the whole day cooking and just wanted to eat the food once we started to smell it!

Made and the rest of the team were just so lovely - funny and totally informative and helpful - The entire class was very impressed. We cooked so much food, we couldn't eat it all for lunch so we were provided take-away containers - was awesome - got us through dinner as well !!! The food was so incredibly fresh and the market tour in the morning was a genuine local experience - Couldn't recommend this more !!!!

I enjoy the class, the food and the market tour with Ketut. We where only four student and there was all the time someone to give clear indications so it was nice. Recipe and food was delicious. But it was very "expeditious". We finished before 12pm so I think we only cooked for less than 2 hours while it was described that we should cook for 3h and finish around 1:30 or 2pm if my memory is good. And I really had the feeling that they rush us to finish as soon as possible. At the end, they don't make us cooked 2 of the recipes despite we had plenty of time ahead. Also the recipes given at the end of the class were not exactly as we cooked it (shorter with less details). So at the end, I think it is gonna be difficult to reproduce them at home. So to conclude, it is a nice experience if you like to spend 3h having fun in the kitchen and eat a good balinese meal (because definitively it was very good =D). But if you really want to take the time to learn, it is probably not the good place. But is there one here in Ubud ? I don't know :)

The teacher was super friendly, funny and happy to accomodate to different dietary requirements, as myself and my friend who I booked with are vegetarian. I loved how the course integrated traditional methods of cooking, and particularly taught us how to make an array of different dishes from one base. I also enjoyed taking the afternoon course because there were only four people including myself doing it, which felt like a more intimate group. They provided us with a recipe book at the end, which I can't wait to use. Thanks for having us!

Finally a cooking class where you actually get to cook everything yourself, 100% hands on. So glad we chose Ketut's cooking class. What a wonderful morning we had! Great driver for pick up & drop off & friendly guide for the market.(would have preferred to have skipped the market part as not particularly pleasant) The whole team throughout the cooking class was Fabulous. Everything very well coordinated and organised. Fun and entertaining and food was delicious. Skip breakfast! Always taken care of with cold bottled water. Very accomodating for Vegetarians & recipes to take home a bonus.

We loved Ketuts class, he is a very entertaining, humorous man who was a good teacher. His helpers that came around to assist us were lovely also. We enjoyed cooking all the food and learning how to make Indonesian specialities including the sauces. It was also all absolutely delicios. They also easily catered for us as we are vegans.

Ketut and all of his family were very happy anf helpful. We had a great time. Had some trouble booking through Cookly, but it was resolved. Great people, great food, great cooking class.

The cooking class was awesome. The tour on the market was really interesting and if you want to learn something about the local fruits, vegetables and spices I recommend the market tour. The cooking class was so much fun, the teachers Are great and they look After everybody. My girlfriend and I did a vegan Menu which was great! I would also recommend to come with an empty belly Because you will get more than enough food. Thanks for everything!:)

Wir waren in der Vormittagsklasse bei Ketut und seiner Familie - es war echt mit einer der besten Vormittage in Ubud! Es war informativ und wir hatten so viel Spaß mit Ketut und seiner Kochschule. Er ist einfach großartig und sowas von lustig! Es gab wunderbare Infos, tolle Gerichte, alles war top und gut vorbereitet. Unser selbstgekochtes Essen durften wir dann natürlich genießen und es war einfach phantastisch! Wir machen diesen Kochkurs beim Nächsten Mal bestimmt wieder mit - Absolute Empfehlung!

The choice of dishes was good. Very friendly staff & all day was a very enjoyable experience. Perhaps it would be good to eat 1st few dishes, then cook again.

As a vegetarian, my requests were very well catered. They made sure that my cousin and I got everything that we needed and learn dishes aligned to our demand. The traditional market tour was really important for me since i am very meticulous in choosing my vegetables. The people in the market were very kind and helped me understand the possible alternatives. This part of the class really showed Indonesian culture and traditional way of getting the fresh ingredients. We had a hands on Balinese cooking class which was conducted in English, Ketut was very warm, accommodating and funny. We all had a sumptuous dinner before heading back to the hotel.

Had the best time...

Being vegan I wasn’t sure if my needs could be catered for but beleive me, the team really looked after me giving me plenty of options. They made sure to cook my food (Tempe, tofu etc) before any meat. When we got picked up we had to wait at the markets for a while and in my honest opinion it was unecessary to do the market tour since when we got to the venue to cook they explained everything all over again. When we arrived at the venue we were a little surprised at the amount of people. 3 groups of 12. We weren’t sure if we would get enough individual attention but again, pleasantly surprised that a teacher was available whenever we needed. The instructions were clear and the staff were enthusiastic and funny. We were served a welcome tea and were given free bottles of cold water throughout the day. The food was AMAZING and it wasn’t rushed. We did skip back and forth preparing 6 different dishes so it was hard to follow the receipe but they gave us a book to take home which was great. A non vegetarian and a vegetarian option. So grateful for this! The ingredients were fresh and the variety of menu was great too. Would definitely recommend to friends and would return again to try a new menu! Thanks again to the team for helping with my diet restrictions. We had a blast and had huge food babies at the end!

Nice staff, good lessons and a nice balance of recipes that are typical for the region but also likely to make again back home.

From the moment Ketut picked us up from our hotel he was entertaining, warm and funny. Ketut gave us a tour of Ubud market where he introduced us to the interesting fruit, vegetables herbs and spices used in Balinese cooking. From the market we were driven to Ketuts cooking school where we had such a great time learning how to prepare beautiful Balinese food. Ketut made the day with his quirky style and culinary skills. The staff were also of great assistance. To finish we sat down to an enormous feast before being driven back to the hotel. Highly recommend Ketut’s cooking school.

Morning pickup was on time, followed by a very entertaining and informative tour through the Ubud produce market. We were then driven out to Ketut’s kitchen in a beautiful rural setting only 10 mins from central Ubud. It was all spotlessly clean, well equipped and we all had individual ‘stations’ and lots of assistance from Ketut’s very helpful staff. Ketut’s instructions were clear and he and his staff made the whole cooking experience so much fun. Ingredients were all fresh and the finished dishes were delicious! Very happy to recommend this class to all.

I had a fabulous time at Bapak Ketut's cooking class. First of all, it was very well-organized and well-payed out. Ingredients were fresh and the recipes were easy to follow and yet so delicious. It was so nice and rewarding to eat all the delicious dishes we had cooked ourselves! But most of all, it was the charm of the jolly Pak Ketut himself that made the event completely worth it. He was so much fun and funny, we were all in stitches from laughing so much. He was the icebreaker and even though I went by myself, at the end of the morning, I felt friendly with everyone. Thank you so much!! Will try the recipes when I get home!

Ketut's school is very well set up and professional and every way. In taking care of students individual needs to the knowledge passed on to students on the finer arts of Balinese cooking.

I really enjoyed my class. I love to cook and Ketut's class gave me the edge for when I return home and start cooking my Balinese curries, satays and treats for family and friends. Wonderful 1/2 day, highly recommend you do it! Mary - Australia

Ketut was great value. We had lots of laughs. The class was well organised and we got to make everything from scratch rather than just watch which was what we wanted. There was lots of food and it was all delicious. I'd definitely recommend this class.

The class itself was amazing, Ketut and his chefs are brilliant - informative, knowledgeable, and just so much fun! Learning the sauces which you can then add to any dish was really good as you can then experiment yourself. Just one slight negative - we booked the afternoon option and this didn't include a market trip even though it said it does on the itinerary. Don't feel it detracted from the experience at all but worth noting.

We were really lucky one rainy afternoon we found ourselves at the top of Bali in a private class for our family. In the morning they had 16 people so we felt very lucky. We made beautiful food under very patient guidelines. Very recommended. However, we did think we were making vegetarian dishes but they weren't. Not a problem for us but might have been for someone else.

I love to cook and I do a cooking class in every country I visit. This class was wonderful. The market tour in Asian countries is pretty standard and this was no different. We were a small class and we were all quite knowledgeable about the ingredients in the market.. What I loved was the cooking. The staff were fabulous. Everything was explained very well. We started by making 3 sauces and then used these as the basis for all our dishes. I was the only vegetarian so my dishes were vegetarian examples of the meat dishes cooked. I loved the cooking of the food but what a feast when we finished. A fabulous day. Highly recommended.

Chef Ketut was pretty good at letting us try all the different. Foods available at the morning market in Ubud. And also good at making sure we got the local prices if we wanted to buy some stuff. The class itself was well organized and very good value for money considering we made around 10 dishes. Food was good. And be catered to vegetarian/vegan.
