課程介紹

I will take you to my welcoming kitchen overlooking the sea to give you an experience that will remain imprinted in your mind and, I hope, in your heart forever.

My house is located a few steps from the main squares of the historic center. We will cook a first or second course together and then a dessert, all accompanied by good Sicilian wine! The dishes we prepare will depend on the season and what the market offers, using only the freshest products.

The menu will include an appetizer, a first course (or a second course), and a dessert. During preparation, if you wish, you can take notes and photos, and at the end bring together the recipe for the main dish prepared. The experience will be offered and supported in English.

Aperitif (we will use aubergines, tomatoes, olives, and capers)
Parmigiana or bruschetta or caponata (Eggplants Parmesan or bruschetta or a local Caponata)

We will cook one of the following dishes together

Pasta con le sarde (Pasta with sardines)
Pasta alla norma con cuore di melanzane ( Pasta alla norma with aubergine heart)
Spaghetti al nero di seppia (Spaghetti with cuttlefish ink)
Calamarata con pomodorini e calamari ( Calamarata with cherry tomatoes and cuttlefish)
Lasagne al al ragù di polpo ( Lasagna with octopus ragù)
Linguine alle vongole ( Linguine with clams)
Risotto ai funghi (mushroom risotto)
Sarde a Beccafico (Sicilian Stuffed Sardines)
Braciole di Vitello (Sicilian Veal chops)

Dessert

Biancomangiare alle mandorle (Almond blancmange)
Cannoli siciliani con ricotta ( Sicilian cannoli with ricotta)
Fichi d'India con gelato ( Prickly pears with ice
Tiramisu' al caffe (coffee Tiramisu' )

"La clase fue excelente. Mariella y Gino sobrepasaron todas nuestras expectativas"

Mariella, nos dio una clase excepcional de cocina siciliana, nos enseñó cómo preparar pasta a la Norma y Tiramisú. Celebramos el cumpleaños de mi hija y fue una ocasión especial. Mariella y Gino nos hicieron sentir en casa desde el momento en que llegamos. La atención al detalle hizo la diferencia. Aprendimos mucho de las costumbres sicilianas y no queríamos que se acabara. Le tenia velas para cantar cumpleaños a mi hija. Sin ninguna una de las mejoras experiencias del viaje. Si tiene la oportunidad tomen la experiencia de cocina con Mariella, será el punto alto de su viaje.

We had a great time during our cooking class in Catania with Mariella. Mariella welcomed us into her beautiful home graciously with her husband Gino. We enjoyed learning how to cook traditional Sicilian pasta with dessert and enjoyed appetizers and wine with the experience. Such a unique opportunity to be welcomed into a local's home and experience both cooking and sharing a meal together. It was one of our favorite parts of our vacation! I would highly recommend to other travelers!

During our trip to Sicily we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon, cooking at Mariella's lovely home. Mariella and Masumi welcomed us warmly and taught us how to make traditional dishes. After cooking we enjoyed the delicious meal at the table. This experience was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip.
