Hoi An Cooking Class with Market Visit and Bamboo Basket Boat Tour

Everything was good!

I didn't see the 6 hours go by! Our cook, Loulou, was charming, very attentive and answered all our questions. Very punctual to pick me up from the hotel, she then started the afternoon with a discovery of the Hoi An market, stopping at some stalls to present us some fruits and vegetables, their flavor and their use. We did some shopping for the preparation of the dishes and then we went to Tra Que to discover the organic gardens and to see how hard the farmers worked. Then the class started, Loulou was helped by some very smiling ladies. The three dishes chosen were made by me from start to finish. I learned how to make spring rolls, Bahn Xao, as well as sweet, salted fish. I was proud of myself, Loulou, too, I think, and the tasting that followed enchanted me. Everything was very well organized, there was no downtime. I really enjoyed this afternoon which actually ended, with a foot and back massage, at 9:30 pm: I really recommend this activity.

A wonderful morning spent with Hung and Lulu visiting a local market, taking a tour of the gardens, cooking and enjoying several delicious dishes we cooked before getting a surprise massage. The schedule is fun, informative, well-organized and I highly recommend this if you have a half day to spare in Hoi An. Definitely one of the highlights of my Vietnam trip so far!
