Adventurous Cooking Class in a Jungle Kitchen

In order to arrive at the Jungle Kitchen at Chilling Hill, you need to take a trip through the rugged interior of the island to get to the heart of Koh Samui. This off-road trip will take you through stunning durian orchards along a mountain ridge. Your arrival will be welcomed with a drink made from fruits of the gardens. The gardens are abundant with food and there you'll find some of the ingredients needed for the class. You are invited to walk around the wild gardens to hand pick them fresh from nature. 

At the Jungle Kitchen, you'll first learn all about the ingredients needed to make three traditional Thai dishes. Surrounded by the wild jungle, you'll prepare the three dishes with traditional tools and techniques that give you a real sense of the Traditional Thai kitchen. 

Together, you'll enjoy the fruits of your labour on a balcony overlooking the jungle. Before leaving the wilderness, you'll have time for a stroll to the nearby panoramic viewpoint with a breathtaking 270-degree view out to the neighbouring island Koh Phangan.

Because the classes have a maximum number of 8 guests, the class is always personal and intimate. 

Menu

You will learn to make 3 dishes. Please note that the menu will depend on the available ingredients. Some of the examples are shown below.

Example Menu Set 1

• Tom Kha Gai - Coconut & galangal soup with chicken
• Larb Moo - Spicy minced pork salad
• Pad Phong Karee Gung - Yellow curry with prawns

Example Menu Set 2

• Tom Yam Gung - Hot and sour soup with prawns
• Pad Krapow Moo - Stir-fried pork with holy basil and chilli
• Plaa Yang - Grilled fish with Thai herbs in banana leaf

Example Menu Set 3

• Gung Thod Sauce Makhaam - Prawns with Tamarind Sauce
• Pad See Ew Pak - Fat Rice noodles with soy sauce and vegetables
• Gaeng Phet Pbed Yang - Red curry with grilled duck

Requests for specific dishes from customers will be considered. 

Jadwal

• 2:00 pm: Pick up from hotel or arranged meeting point
• 2:30 pm: Arrival at Chilling Hill with a refreshing drink from garden fruits
• 2:45 pm: Wild garden tour
• 3:00 pm: Start cooking class at Jungle Kitchen
• 5:00 pm: Enjoy dinner on the kitchen balcony
• 6:00 pm: Explore and enjoy the majestic view 
• 6:30 pm: End of cooking class
• 7:00 pm: Drop off at hotel or arranged meeting point
