During that day everything was really good organized. We cooked the main parts of the food, they had already steamed/boiled some ingredients so we did not loose time with that. Also some parts of the recipe we didnt do, like deep fry/etc to avoid using orecious time on that. Really good. Comunication the day before to set up pick up place and time was super slow
Good idea to discover the Balinese culture with food, cook and taste … Great organisation
Je recommande ce cours! Tout était top, les recettes, l'équipe... On s'est régalé!!!!
Good explanation, nice dishes, fun staff, and good experience!
We loved the cooking class. Starting with the rice fields and the market. Everyone spoke very good English. The people were super friendly. We cooked 9 dishes. All of them were so delicious, and we did everything by ourselves. They answer every question. We had a perfect day. 😊
Wonderful experience! All the guides were kind and friendly. We loved the experience. We learned a lot and tasted all the dishes. I would do it again.
The class was the highlight of our trip! We were given a short tour of some local rice fields, then welcomed into the cooking class where we prepared and ate delicious Balinese food. Everyone was so nice, the guy leading it was really informative and it was a real homely vibe.
Very informative and delicious food. Looking forward to receiving the recipes to try at home.
It was a shame that we were late to the class because the driver was told the wrong hotel for the other people doing the course. Because of that and the traffic we missed some of the class and had to wait one and a half hours to be picked up. We did enjoy the class when we got there though, and we were able to cook the vegan option, which was fantastic. The food was delicious 😀👏
Very good organized: Transport, visiting market, cooking class! People very friendly, good english speaking and funny 🤣 Very tasty food, everithing freshly made, vegan options A wonderful experience! Thank you for all
Great time with beautiful people, enjoyed the experience.
We had the best day cooking with Wayan! We started the day going to the market where we could taste typical fruits and products. When we arrived at her beautiful outside cooking class she showed us their rice fields and we made our own offer. Wayan is a very warm, fun and friendly teacher with a passion for food and cooking. We made lots of delicious dishes and Wayan told us everything we wanted to know about Bali and their culture. The cooking class is one of our highlights staying in Bali so would definitely recommend. Thank you so much Wayan!
It was a very nice experience. 7:40 the driver picked us. 8:00 a.m. we went on a market close to Ubud. The driver let us try some fruits and typical balinese sweets. After that he showed us a rice field and he brought us to the cooking class in the house. The cook was very nice explained everything and we also cooked.9 dishes we did! After that we ate our dishes from a buffet which we had cooked for lunch. It was interesting and delicious. I really recommend it!
Such good value for 8am-1pm visiting the market and the rice friends and then cooking a huge delicious feast. As I’m vegetarian they prepared all the alternatives to the meat with tofu and Tempe and let me cook and get my food first to avoid contamination it was a great. I even got to take leftovers home for dinner haha. The people were so lovely I can’t wait to cook these dishes at home for my family, thanks for a great time!
Enjoyed Market and rice fields visit as well as the class and lunch. Staff very accommodating and very friendly. Would recommend.
The cooking class was a very nice experience. All recipes were explained well and everyone was able to take part in the cooking. It was very pleasant that the staff cleaned the stations and utensils were cleaned throughout the class.
We have done a number of cooking classes throughout Asia and found this to be one of the best, if not the best. This is a very well run operation. The facilities are good and the instruction is excellent. We not only cooked a wide range of good food but learnt a lot about the ingredients and Balinese culture. I would highly recommend doing this class.
I had a wonderful time yesterday with Wayan, Guzde and the cooking school. We visited some local markets first to buy our ingredients. We then learnt how to prepare sauces from scratch and prepare no less than 9 Balinese dishes! The food was wonderful and it was a great lesson. Thank you!
Great experience to get the insides on many dishes. Because it is so well arranged we could see a lot of dishes and also make them ourselves. Great experience!
Very great host family with nice location out of Ubud. The rice paddy field visit could have been longer like taking a walk, rather than just stopping on the side of the road
well organized, professional and fun. You get to cook everything yourself and taste it after!
Enjoyable class with knowledgeable and friendly teacher. Well organised introduced us to 9 dishes! It was easy with pick up and drop off to hotel.
After finding the right place we had a warm welcome and great host, the class looked nice and professional, the instructions were clear and friendly, good variety of dishes and ingredients and option for vegans as well which made us decide to go there, plenty of food which you can take away after the class. Delicious local food and you receive the recipes via Email or WhatsApp so you can Cook your friends a balinese dinner.
Professional, slick, informative and fun. Everyone was lovely and I learned new recipes.
Loved our cooking class with Ketut, from the morning market visit, understanding how rice is cultivated, the fun of cooking our 9 courses to sitting down to eat our feast for lunch, everything was entertaining and delicious. Can't wait to go home and impress my family with my new Balinese cooking skills.
We enjoyed the rice field stop, the market stop, and of course the 9 things we cooked! We had Wayan who was funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to get the recipes at home!!
We were picked up at our hotel before going to the rice terraces and learning about the rice. We then went to the market and learned about different types of ginger and got to try some yummy oranges and snacks on the way. Then we went to the cooking class led by Wayan. My sister and I did the vegetarian option and loved every dish! Wayan and the other staff were incredible always on hand to help and clear stuff away. At the end we ate our creations and it was so tasty
Such a brilliant tour, I'm so happy I found it! It was lovely to get off the beaten track somewhat and visit a local market, such a treat for the senses. The cooking class itself was just divine. I loved each and every dish we made, it felt so easy too! If only I had everything I needed surrounding me in my kitchen like that at home I'd eat like a queen forever. I'll be taking some new culinary skills back home with me and some happy memories of friendly staff and fellow tour guests.
From start till end everything was arranged very well. It was fun and because of great originazing we got to make a lot of dishes in a limited time. We received a lovely fruit juice, tea and coffee, water, could try anything we wanted on the market and in the end we enjoyed an amazing buffet. Nice that we received a book with her recipes!
We really enjoyed the cooking class. Everything was prepared very good and he explained everything nice and slowly. The food was amazing and we were able to bring some food at home if we wanted. We had a nice group and loved meeting all the people. Thankyou for the good time with you family. We would really recommend doing this. See you next year!
The whole experience was just great, from the beginning of going to rice fields and the farmers market to the class itself it was just amazing. Wayan was a great teacher and the food we made was delicious. The whole thing was super well organised too.
My partner and I loved the cooking class. Wayan was very friendly and professional. The cooking space was clean, professional and had scenic views of countryside. The lesson was very informative and the food was very tasty. Thanks Wayan!
Good class; everything was explained well. Our teamchef was great. Recommended.
This class was so much fun to take with Wayan. My husband and I loved the chance to learn about the market, rice fields, and then spices for the food. The class is in Wayan's home which is special because the environment is so much different than the rest of the city. He introduced us to his family, they were so sweet. And the food was so much fun, we made it from start to finish and it tasted amazing. If you want to experience the culture, this is a great activity for that. :) We took the morning class.
We did the evening class, was quieter which we preferred, really informative and lovely cooking lesson, everything was very delicious and flavoursome, i appreciated that the spicy level was only mild, you have the option to add more spice to food at the end where everyone eats together, we also got to take home leftovers too. Lovely family runs this cooking class! Highly recommend!!
The trip was organised so well. We had three generations: in laws who are 78 and 82 plus my kids 6, 7, 9 . We were catered too and all had fun. Such an amazing experience. I would recommend this for anyone. So joyful to see everyone being immersed in what they were doing.
Very enjoyable morning. Good people who went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. I have food intolerances so they went out of their way to make sure my food was kept completely seperate from the rest. Walking in rice paddies and through the market just an all round good experience.
The class was incredibly well organised and run. The drivers and teachers were lovely! We worked in pairs to prepare the ingredients for cooking. The teachers were patient and demonstrated and directed all that was required. The food was beautiful. I couldn’t recommend this class more. A must do for your Ubud trip!
Very well organized, nice staff. Market visit und rice paddy very interesting. Good food very well to understand as well :)
The tour took up majority of our day, it was lovely ! All for great value and a wonderful experience. They were very clear with instruction and their plans for us :)
Great cooking class. The rice fields were random, but the actual cooking class was fun. The facilities were clean, instructor was hands-on and explained everything clearly, and we all had a chance to participate. And the food that 'we' made was yum!
Highly recommend :)
It was an amzing experience. They told us a lot about spices in Indonesia and it was really easy to follow the steps of the recipe. The staff was really friendly and tried to make the experience as good as possible. I would totaly recommend the cooking class.
Fine but many dishes. Would rather do fewer dishes and learn more in dept. Some of the things we didnt get to make ourselve but watched someone do it instead. Also the chicken seemed a bit not good and at some points raw.
Very very professional. I have done cooking tours in many parts of the world and this was by far the best.
As we were a bit early the experience started with a quick tour of the paddy fields. The whole experience was managed and organised so well. Although we had 9 dishes to make, at no point did we feel rushed. The dishes were easy enough that I feel confident that after making it once I could easily replicate this again from home. I could not recommend this highly enough.
It was an incredible experience. We prepared 9 recipes, he was great! Everything was delicious and we learnt a lot. I would definitely recommend it! It is totally worth it!
The chef was super nice and there were enough people that helped you if the introduction was to fast. We always tried our selfmade food and in the end there was a big buffet everybody could take from. It was more than enough food!
Good value for low end budget traveller.
Apart from the fact we believed we’d be taken around the market and we weren’t! It was an amazing and fun experience, cooking together and they made sure our vegetarian needs were fulfilled. The food was so delicious and they even let us take home the rest!
Nothing to complaint about.
This was my favourite cooking class I've taken. Every attention to detail was fully thought out. It was highly organized and the recipes were so delicious! It was also family run (by the cutest family ever!). I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn authentic Balinese dishes!
very friendly, great communication, everything very clean. So much variety to cook and loads to eat. LOVED IT
The visit on the market and to the rice fields makes the cooking class to great experience. The menu of cooking wad amazing. We will try to do something like that at home - with our given recipe.
It was a very compact course we did a lot besides just cooking and it was a very good cooking course as well,Wayan was Very experienced. Definitely got my money‘s worth.
It was great to have hands on experience throughout the class. We got to taste our own dishes before they were combined at the end for a buffet. It was very nice to get the recipes as we left and they gave us leftovers !
The kitchen was well set out and the chefs were excellent in explaining techniques and ingredients with a bit of humour as well. 1 little negative was a young couple in our group were split from the group which was a pity as they were separated on there own. But overall we really enjoyed our experience. Glen & Linda. NZ
We had an excellent tour. It was well led, very informative and quite fun. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
The food was fresh and nice, and it's nice getting to know a bit of the local life
Absolutely delighted to have picked this course out of the many advertised. We were collected and taken through the door rice fields and local markets which gave us a real taste of local Balinese life and culture. We arrived at the home to find out we were the only two in the class for that evening! Perfect!! The day was truly organised and good fun. We learned how to make some delicious recipes and received a copy of each to take home. Thanks for the lovely experience!!
The Cooking class was almost perfect: nice driver, nice teacher, nice and comfy apartment, easy and jummy recipes, nice tricks how to make them at home and so so clean and well prepared! Even if you're vegeterian, it's no problem! The food that is cooked it very spicy and it's full of lemongrass in almost every dish. So if you don't like this, this class maybe isn't the right choice for you. But if you like spicy food this is an amazing class!!!
Wonderful experience and most delicious food in Bali. You won't find such a tasty food in restorans. Lot to learn, and you'll get it written at the end of class. Wayan and Ketut are wery organised, very skilled and very kind. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :)
Super friendly Indonesian host family. Tasty food.
Wayan and his cousin gave us a very informative and fun day, would recommend giving it a go!
Great class, well run with delicious recipes!
We absolutely loved this class. The team were all great. Very well organised and helpful, even with a full class of 15. The range of food was great and all tasted wonderful. I will definitely be trying some at home.
Very friendly persons and structured Program. The Eating were really Great.
The day was quite action packed because of the rice paddy and market visit and because we cooked so many dishes. The staff were all very kind and they have ran this class many times and are very efficient. We helped chop some food but mostly everything was already chopped and we assembled/prepared the food. We has a small group so we all got our own fry pan to cook. Afterwards, we all got to the buffet which was really delicious.
The cooking class was really fun! Beforehand you’ll go to a rice paddy were they will give you info about (obviously) rice. After you’ll go to a local market to get to know all kinds of fruits and vegetables they have in Bali. Then you go to the house of this lovely family, and cook 9 things. It was such a great experience. The chef, his father and brother will tell you about Bali and their rituals. Highly recommend!!
This was a real highlight of our holiday. The trip round the market and the walk through the rice fields was a bonus that really added to the experience. The cookery school was very professionally run but the experience was relaxed and fun. My husband and I both agreed that the food we made that day was some of the best food we had had in Bali. The whole team were friendly and helpful.
It was good.
After visiting a local market we go to the home of this nice family were we prepared 9 dishes. It was very interesting and funny how to do that. We also get informations how to grow and harvest rice at the rice field before.
The cooking class was great, with a lot of explanation about the food, preparation and local tradition!
A true family affair, father and son took us around their town and explained different foods, traditions, and more before bringing us to the rice paddy tour. All off the beaten path, it felt more authentic and real and not like a big anonymous tour. We then had a lovely afternoon learning, cooking, and laughing at the family home. The set up was clean and easy, and everything was efficient and well thought out. From drop off to pick up we enjoyed it all.
Interesting stories and instructions about Richfields, the food, the market and life in Bali. Delicious food!
Loved this class and getting to learn all about the Balinese way of life - from the market to the rice paddy and into the kitchen you will learn about daily life in the village and have fun along the way!
The chef was really kind and easy to understand which made it a really great experience. The food was really delicious and you get to take home the recipe after the class ends. The trip to the market was also really good especially because we got to try some local fruit and cake.
The whole event was very well organised, the cooking teacher spoke very good english, everyone was very nice and the pick-up and drop-off worked fine aswell.

I really enjoyed the professional organisation of this cooking class. Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious. We learned many of the basics and have the recipes to try later at home.
It was by far one of our favorite mornings in Bali - everyone was so nice! The food was so good! Would definitely recommend.
The best part of my trip So personable loved that he shared his family and his home
I am thinking to do another cooking class in Bali. I will traveling a little bit around. Thank you
Very professional experience!
My friend recommended this cooking class and I’m so happy that I did this. I did it with my mom and best friend. The family is so open and loving. The food you make together is delicious and I just want to tell everyone about this class. It’s truly the best!
Wayne was a truly amazing guide and teacher. He really helped us to learn about all the different ingredients we were using and even playfully "tested" us on our new knowledge. He made the experience fun and informational and the time flew by!
The cooking class offered a chance to make a variety of traditional Indonesian dishes. It was a team effort and we made a large amount of food to share. Would have appreciated a more organized market tour and more formalized information about the local ingredients and rice paddies, but it was overall a nice experience.
Located 20 minutes out of Ubud this course includes a trip to the local market where you get tasters of fruits and snacks. Fllowed by a short walk through a rice field, where you can meet the locals. Then the cooking begins, you learn how to make so many dishes and small taste at the end of each course with a huuuuge final buffet! So much food and so tasty! We loved it (ignore the picture of the palm trees - cant work out how to remove!)
C'était mon premier cours de cuisine et j'ai adoré. Wayan prend le temps de bien expliquer et est très souriant. On goûte tout et on cuisine tout. On mange les délicieux plats qu'on a préparé et on repart avec les recettes. Je recommande !
The class was amazing. They bring you to the market, then the rice fields and then you do 9 complete dishes !! The whole family is super helpful and cleans up so you don’t have to. You can also bring back leftovers ! Their level of English is really good and they gave you the receipes so you can try them back home !! My mom and I are super happy with the experience
Our driver and chef was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and local area. Plus he had plenty of jokes to go around.
The class was fast paced and very engaging. It was very hands-on. We made a total of 9 dishes and it was well worth the money we paid. If you would like to go for the market tour, it's best to join the morning class at the market closes at 9am.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. The kitchen clean. The class ran smoothly and the instructor gave lots of information. It was interesting. Definitely worth doing!
It was a truly amazing and insightful Balinese cooking class. We learnt so much, tried new food and the family who ran the class were first class!
very beautiful family very yummy dishes
The cooking class was an amazing experience, and so affordable for the 9 meals that we learned to create. The whole family helped out, which made prep and cleanup very easy!
The food was incredible and the instructor showed us around the ubud market and then thoughtfully showed us how to make delicious Balinese food. It was nice to learn a bit about Balinese culture since many restaurants have hip food that is not Balinese. I really recommend this activity!
It was ran perfectly! The staff were so attentive and the different foods were incredible. Will definitely try making some of the dishes when I’m home
Very well organised, the attention to hygiene was appreciated. Ingredients fresh and the end results delicious.
My girlfriend and I have done cooking classes in the past and this was without a doubt the best. The walk across the rice fields and explanation of local history was a great start to the day. What really impressed me was how much hands on cooking we got involved in. Cooking 9 dishes, the instructor ran through all the different ingredients and how they’re used in Balinese cooking. There was never a dull moment! At the end, we got to keep the list of recipes used throughout the class and we’ll definitely be cooking these again!
We really enjoyed the class and the insight into Indonesian cooking. We were taken care of the whole time and guided with no rush through the different tastes and dishes. The group was very small which was very comfortable and we had enough time to prepare everything by ourselves. At the end we could eat as much as we wanted and were even offered a take away. We can certainly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the authentic cuisine of Bali!
It was well organised, great range of foods and techniques, very friendly and helpful host. We would definitely recommend doing it.
I have a great experience in Indonesian cuisine))) Sincere thanks to the chef and the whole family for the hospitality! Thank you! Happiness and well-being of the whole family! Lidia
The Class was well orginazed, perfect . He was fun and the whole family was friendly and helpful. I wholuld defenetly recomend and do it all over again.
I really recommend this class to those who is really into understanding Balinese culture. The course outline was well prepared, starting with the market visit, followed by paddy field visit, and lastly the cooking class! The coordinator for this class, Mr. WAYAN, did a great job! He explain everything you need to know about the ingredients and also the cooking methods. It was a fun class! Overall, it was a great experience! I got to say the KLEPON CAKE is my favourite and it’s really good! Thank you Mr. Wayan for the hospitality :)
Loved absolutely everything about it! Amazing host, wonderful class, lovely people and great experience!!
he took me to local markets where i tried some food and learned a lot about spices and fruits. after that we went to beautiful rice fields. the kitchen we cook is at his house and we have the pleasure to meet his parents, who are lovely people. the kitchen is equipped with everything we need. the food was amazing and i could also take away some. i recommend this class to everyone
Wayan and his parents were really friendly hosts. He picked us up from our hotel, we drove to a ricefield nearby and he told us interesting facts about working on a ricefield in general. After that we drove to a typical balinese market and he showed us all the ingredients we cooked with this afternoon. Then we drove to their home and we started cooking. He explained everything really clearly and it was a lot of fun. The meals were all delicious and we got a doggy bag as well! So nice! And the little doggy Bonnie was so cute and entertaining! Everytime again!
great organization, delicious food, small groups
Love that it was run by one family, from their family compound. Good to stop at a local market and learn about local spices, vegetables, and customs. Very good and varied menu.
Absolutely delicious! Can't wait to try to remake all of the dishes back home! The class size is just right too - small enough so everyone is joking and having fun and talking with each other.
We were picked up promptly from our hotel and driven out to the rice fields. After an informative chat about rice production, a ramble across the paddy field we took photos. Beautiful scenery and then it was onto the cooking school. Hours of fun & learning followed all hands-on. Did you know there are 4 different kinds of ginger? We learned so much. Later we enjoyed a delicious buffet. We love Balinese food and now Klepon cakes are a new favourite. Thanks Wayan, you make learning to cook so much fun. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
Came to Bali as a solo traveler, and this class was great. Well organized, efficient. I learned a lot about Balinese cuisine :)
The food was amazing and we made 9 dishes. There was so much food left after dinner we were able to take the food home with us as well. We also received recipes so we can make the meals at home. The class was amazing.
We were picked up from our villa and brought to the second largest market in Ubud, where Wayan (our guide) gave an introduction to the produce sold and bought some local kueh there for us to try. Wayan was friendly and very easy to communicate with as he spoke good English. After the market, he drove us to the cooking school which is located in his family home. We had a great time learning about the ingredients and getting hands on with the food prep and cooking. Lunch was delicious! Highly recommended.
Loved all the spices, colors and new scents.
Must do! Family was great! And meal was the best one I had the entire trip!
Very wonderful experience. I love seeing people from different places, and this gave me more than one experience that i will definitely not forget. I love all the Balinese food that we cooked. It has a very traditional taste and they also gave us the recipe booklet so that we can recreate the dish at home. The teacher was very friendly and patient with us. The staff who were also present during the class were helpful and accommodating. At the end of the class, i felt great because i got to experience Ubud with their depth of culture and the taste of their historical cuisines.
It was really good and fun, the people were amazing and I really enjoy cooking local food.
I loveeee all the balinese food that we were taught to cook! Very yummy very local and with the recipe notes that were shared with us, I hope I can recreate the dishes at home too. The teacher was very friendly and patient and overall me and my boyfriend enjoyed the class very much. Thank you for the great experience!
We had a lot of fun going to the market and spending few hours at the host family cooking. The host was fantastic and his family was very welcoming and inviting. Highly recommended.
Recommend to others
I could see a local market and communicate with local people, which was a very nice experience for me. The dishes were delicious and I could serve as much as I want via buffet style. I could even take away some of the dishes.
I had such a great coocking class with the subak coocking class! The tour around the market and the ricefields was a great way to start the day and get Some extra intell about the products used in the dishes. Also the Family that overs the class is amazing, helpfull and sweet! Overall a fantastic experience!
Myself and my two girls aged 16 and 17 enjoyed the class. We now understand how simple it is to create these fab dishes. We enjoyed the cultural experience. It is one of the highlights of our Bali holiday.
My husband and I had a blast at the class. Very interactive and we enjoyed visiting the rice paddies and local market. The food we made was delicious! I would definitely recommend their class!
Very nice guy! Pick-up worked like a charm. Market was interesting and we could learn a lot of the behaviour of Balinese people. Cooking was a lot of fun with him and his family! He always explained all the ingredients to us and also provided us the recipe for all the dishes so we can cook them on our own at home.
The cooking class was amazing! It was a family effort of a son, father and aunt. The food was delicious and the family was extremely friendly!
We really enjoyed this home cooking class with Wayan and his family! We were picked up from our hotel and stopped by in a village market on the way. In the market, Wayan showed us the main ingredients in Balinese cuisine and gave us samples of sweet cakes. After we continued to his home where we were greeted by his family, who would also help us cook. We got to prepare and cook almost all the dishes we made from scratch, and got a print out of the recipes to take home. All the food was delicious and we got to take leftovers with us. The kitchen area was very clean and the family would clean our stations between every dish. I can recommend this class 100%
My husband and I did the 9 dish cooking class and it was really wonderful, the visit to the local market was interesting and then we looked at the rice paddies, took some great photos then off to cook. The hospitality of the family was wonderful and Wayan gave us loads of information, the food was sensational, if I don’t say so myself😝 and my husband and I enjoyed cooking and eating it. Thank you Cookly for a fantastic Bali experience!
Great day learning the Balinese culture and how to prepare and cook a banquet. Fantastic to do and then eat the dishes.
As a french i love to cook. I found a really wonderful family. Really delicate and welcoming. What you learn, is the traditionnal balinse food you can cook for sure when you go back home. Also, i learn a lot about the balinese culture! A real adventure in the heart of bali.
The experience was great, we were educated about the local rice padies and local market before arriving at the cooking school. It was a hands on experience and we were involved in making all of the brilliant dishes. It was very well organised meaning you always had something to do! The family was lovely and very helpful! We would definitely recommend this cooking class!
Very fun and amazing family!
We went to this class in the afternoon, after a morning trek. We were pretty tired but were so happy we went along by the end! We learnt to cook so many delicious dishes, and learnt a lot about Balinese culture along the way. Each dish is bursting with flavour and you can’t really do it wrong. The host is helping and watching all the way through. We were lucky enough to have a private session that day, and had no problem following the instructions. You cook a total of 9 dishes by the end and then its all yours to eat (if you can manage). There was too much food for the two of us (and one of us eats like a pig). They wrapped up the rest in packages and we were able to bring it home for later. All in all a great experience, lovely host, who spoke good english and would definitely recommend to others. :)
We had a private booking with 4 of us that are on holidays together and it was a very welcoming and interesting experience. I don’t do any cooking myself or really enjoy it but even with that I still enjoyed the class and eating the amazing food following the class. My wife and friends spoke very highly about the whole class and food and we would recommend it to anyone to have a look.
Cours de cuisine top au sein d'une famille exceptionnelle !!! Je le recommande les yeux fermés
The cooking class with Wayan and his family was perfect. First we booked the cooking class around 6pm the day before for 8am. Wayan replied me directly by mail and whatsapp to arrange the pick up. We went to his native city for local market and to his home. Cooking with Wayan was like cooking with his family in his own place. We recommend without a doubt to take his class :)
The whole experience was amazing from beginning to end. Its a family ran business and they are all super nice. We learned how to do some amazing food. Highly recommend!
Overall the class was great, easy to follow recipes and the food was fresh and tasty. Ketuk and his family were very welcoming. Great experience. We didn't go to the paddy fields though!
Class was great, first a visit to a local market with a variety of fruits and vegetables. On the way to the class we stopped on the rice field to see how it grows how the field is maintained. The class itself was great, meals were delicious and a bit spicy. All family engaged in the class was very nice. Thank you all for the great time.
We had such a wonderful time with Wayan and his family. He picked us up promptly from our hotel and brought us to the rice fields for a quick lesson on how rice is harvested. From there, we toured the local market where Wayan showed us all of the ingredients we were going to use in the cooking class. He then brought us to his family compound where his mother and father assisted us in the cooking class. It was a very hands on experience and we had a wonderful time!
All was good with the class, from the market visit to the cooking itself! Would recommend it without hesitation!
The class was exactly what we expected. We really enjoyed Wayan, the chef, and the whole team. They were very generous and openminded to share their culture. The food we cooked was really tasty and we appreciated the document with the recipes. We are looking forward to cook those recipes back home. We really liked the visit at the market and the fact that we could taste new fruits and more!
Great to learn about the culture! Very well organised and food was delicious! Easy step by step instructions and so much fun! The host were so lovely and nice! Would highly recommend this class and would do it again :)
Wayan and his dad were very informative, they told us so much that we didn’t know about the ingredients we were cooking with. They picked us up on time and we went on a market tour first. The cooking was amazing, the kitchen is a lovely set up and we had such a good time cooking all of the dishes. The food tasted unreal too, from what we didn’t eat, we took as much of it back to our villa as we could! 5* class guys!
The class was brilliant! We were picked up and taken straight to the market where we learnt about lots of the different ingredients involved in Balinese cooking. On the way back to the compound, Wayan stopped at his local school to say hello to the kids which was lovely. We then went and met some of his family and began cooking. The food was delicious and we would really recommend this cooking class.
Had an amazing experience at the Subak Cooking Class. We compared a lot of different cooking class experiences and finally chose this one because it seemed the most hands-on. The class did not disappoint. It was informative, authentic and the dishes prepared were delicious, some of the best food we have enjoyed while in Bali. Everything from their complimentary pick-up, to visiting the local markets to learn about the ingredients to cooking the food at the family home was perfectly executed. We learned so much about Balinese culture, traditions and food in this wonderful class. An unforgettable experience.
I highly recommend this cooking class. We arrived to this nice clean kitchen and the cutest family did everything to keep everything clean and tidy and we had such a nice time talking to them and learning from them. The food was unreal and they allowed everyone to try everything and we really did cook the food ourselves. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
A wonderful experience in the village home of a lovely family. Delicious food too!
Very fun, interesting, well organized and delicious! I recommend this place!
Only good vibes, in the heart of a village and of a local family. Very didactic and delicious! Far from the mass tourism of Ubud.
Wayeng texted us to let us know when and where to pick us up. We didn't find him in the beginning but he was very patient until we met him. The transport to the market and then to his home was safe. We started our private class by chopping the ingredients and he also explained a lot. We had a lot of fun cooking and Wayeng and his family did everything to make us feel comfortable. We really recommend this class. :)
We've spent nearly half a day for the cooking lesson (including the visit of the traditional market and rice field). It was very nice and it was very satisfying to eat for lunch what we prepared. The kitchen is very clean. I recommend this cooking lesson.
Wayan’s cooking class was amazing!! He picked us up from our hotel, took us to a rice field to explain how they grow rice in Bali, took us to the local market to explain all the local ingredients we would be using, and then we went to his lovely home in a village 20 minute north of Ubud to cook. You get to make every course and taste alone the way. The final product (9 courses) is incredible! Him and his family are so helpful, kind, and welcoming. Great way to spend the morning or afternoon to get an authentic Balinese experience
The family were absolutely lovely and the dishes that you make are authentic and delicious.
We got in with the wrong bus and our inductor, Wayan, called around and drove all over to find us! Very impressed by that! His family compound was great and seeing how his family works together to teach us how to cook authentic Balinese food was amazing! Definitely would recommend to anyone!
Loved this cooking class! Wayan & his family were incredibly friendly, generous, and thoughtful teachers. The class is well set up and structured to provide a mixture of experiences across a spectrum of types of Balinese cooking. It was easy to see the flow through selecting and preparing ingredients, through making more complex dishes based on a few core mixtures. A great way to meet some new people and have a memorable, unique experience. Would definitely want to go back!
The cooking class was great. Very well thought out, from local produce to plate. We saw rice paddies and local markets with lots of ingredients we can now cook with at home. Great explanation of different types of ginger and other essential spices and how they are used in Balinese cooking. Wayan and his family make you feel most welcome and he likes to crack a joke too which is always fun. Thank you Subak Cooking :)
Wonderful cooking class run by great family, highly highly recommend! Tasty food too!
We highly recommend this cooking class. Lovely family, great food. We enjoyed our trip to the market and free pick up was a plus. We would definitely come back
Picked up in Time, half day of learning: about Culture, rice cultivation and ingredients at the Market. The Nine dishes we cooked, each had his own Flavour and Taste! We were supported by Wayan and his Lovely parents. Thanks for teaching and Thanks for all small Talks and Thanks for a beautiful day! Sascha & Nicole
Very informative class about Indonesian foods. We felt welcomed in the hosts home and had a lovely experience. Would definitely go again and recommend to family and friends.
Mr Ketut was very friendly and i recommended this class t those who really into bali food.
The visit to the local market was a great way to start the day, super interesting! Wayan and his family were so lovely and welcoming, and the food was also delicious!
This was a great class for someone who didnt know much about the local Balinese culture and traditions. Not just a cooking class but you also get to visit a traditional home and cook with a local family. Wayan and his father were excellent hosts and explained everything so patiently. The food was delicious and of course getting toneat everything you made as a buffet is the highlight! I liked that it was more local food recipes and not all touristy. Great class.
My daughter and I had a great time learning from Wayan and his family. They have been very welcoming and the dishes we cooked were easy and delicious! I would very much recommend this course and trip!
We had a wonderful experience with this cooking class. Definitely recommend! We first visited the local market where Wayan let us try some tropical fruits and traditional indonesian cakes. Thereafter we made a stop at a beautiful but non-touristy rice field. The cooking class takes place at Wayan’s traditional Balinese family house. We were greated very kindly by his family and the cooking class has a very homely feel. The dishes were all super delicious and because of the small-group setting, it really felt like we got a private cooking class. It was awesome! If you are looking for a truly traditional Balinese cooking class with a super friendly teacher that has a personal approach, go for this one!
Very informative, fun, food was delicious. Wayan and his family were gracious host!
Learned far more than i thought possible in the time. Wayan is abrilliant instructor and with the able assistance of his lovely parents the day was a complete success and the result, in a word, delicious.
The dishes were tasty and enjoyable. A great experience overall, highly recommended!!
Wayan and his family were so welcoming. This class was held at their house so we got to see/learn about some Balinese culture. Wayan took us to the local market where he explained many things very thoroughly. I signed up for a cooking class and I learned many other things as well. The cooking portion of the class itself was great. We made many different dishes, and Wayan explained everything in detail. I would recommend this class to anyone looking for a more personal class where you get to experience some culture as well.
Cooking class is very well organized with various dishes. We learnt a lot about Balinese food and also local cultures. It was pleasure to have such a lovely class in Wayane's beautiful Udud house. We liked that kitchen was very clean and tidy. Wayane was very kind and friendly as well. He took us to market and rice field even in a rainy weather he kept smiling. He also helped us to buy some local souvenir in the market as well. We stayed in Seminyak but pick up service was very affordable price compared to taxi. We highly recommend to experience this class and you will taste amazing Balinese food you made at the end of class ! If you want to see something real culture in budget price, this class is so worth !
The class was an enjoyable n authentic Balinese experience. Being vegetarian our choice of dishes were limited. But they accommodated our request n helped us cook some dishes. The whole family was involved in the activity and it was touching to see the harmony n mutual support between them. We were dropped off to our hotel after a satisfying dinner of all the items we cooked. Well worth a try.☺
The trip to their home, where the cooking class was held in a beautifully prepared kitchen, was very intresting as we got to explore hidden rice terraces and a rural market. The special thing about it was that it all took place in a small village, which you would never be able to visit without a local guide. Cooking class was very much fun and it was intresting to learn about the balinese cooking culture. The food was great and plenty, thank you so much for the amazing day!
I would strongly recommend this as something to do whilst in Ubud. Apart from spending time with a genuine Balinese family who were so welcoming. The drive from Ubud was stunning, the market was very Balinese and their home was something a tourist would not normally be fortunate enough to see. Aside from all of that the cookery was interesting and fun. The whole place was immaculate .
We had a wonderful day with Wayan and his family. Visiting the local fresh market, seeing the rice fields and cooking at Wayan’s family home. Very clean and professional and well organised. Cooked 9 courses and shared the food for lunch. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely time. Wayan spoke very good English and was excellent communicating with us prior to hotel pick up and during the trip to his village. We stopped off at rice paddy fields and a local market where he explained all sorts of unusual fruit, veges and spices. The cooking class was very professional and it was a while family affair with his mum and dad helping prepare, cook, clean and serve. It was a fantastic experience and good insight into everyday Balinese life and I highly recommend having a go.
We had so much fun meeting Wayan's family and learning about balinese cooking. We learned so much about the different spices and techniques that are used to create authentic balinese dishes. Shout out to Wayan, Ketut and family. One of the best cooking classes I've been to. Look no further than this cooking class!
Our family enjoyed the 9 dish cooking class. Wayan was a great teacher and very organised The food was delicious and we had a fun time. We particularly enjoyed meeting his whole family who helped to organised and prepare food for us. The market tour was very brief and basic and we did not do the rice paddy visit, possibly because it was raining. I recommend this class to anyone interested in learning how to cook Balinese food.
When we got to the cooking class, the school was surrounded by the nature. It was such a great atmosphere to live in. All the food was fresh. We also got the full experience from the food preparation through the process of serving and eating. Very nice cooking and good meal.
Great experience. Excellent food. Loved meeting the family and being able to see a Balinese home. Good food safety practices. Enjoyed the market and rice paddy tour. Great driver.
