Francesca was lovely, she explained important tips about the quality and attributes of the ingredients and the reasons for doing one thing or the other, and she was also not precious about anything, encouraging everyone to enjoy the process. She was also very welcoming and organized. I initially decided on this course because so many courses only offer Tiramisu as a dessert, (which I do not like) and Francesca had a Panna Cotta option - it was great and something I will most definitely make. We made tagliolini al limone and gnocchi. The lunch was fit for a queen. I recommend Francesca to anyone visiting the area.
We had hoped to get a warm welcome at the house of knowledgeable and passionate host, and that’s exactly what we got. Francesca is passionate about food and wine and she doesn’t mind sharing. We had a great time in her house in the Umbrian hills, making simple but delicious food and talking about various things. Francesca, thanks for the course, the lunch and the warm welcome we got at your place 🙏 If we get the chance, we’ll stop by in a few years to see how that new garden is coming along. (And it was nice talking about software and the industry as well, not what I’d expected beforehand, but nice nevertheless 😅)
Our class with Francesca was probably our favorite part of our trip to Rome! She is a great teacher and she shares lots of knowledge about Rome and its food culture with you throughout the class. Our four hours together felt like they flew by - but the class didn't feel rushed at all. We made three different kinds of pasta and then sat around a table and enjoyed them together. It was WONDERFUL!
Francesca was so warm and friendly, she really made the class special. She made the process fun but also very informative and answered all our questions. I feel like we have lots of great tips to make perfect pasta now! The meal was spectacular, and she was so fun to spend a few hours with. I can't recommend the class enough!
My wife and I had such a wonderful time chatting, cooking, learning and eating with Francesca. She is a gracious host and provided a menu for us to learn to cook.
We loved it, it was a wonderful moment and we learned a lot! Thank you
So, we immediately felt at home when we pushed the button on the building and were welcomed into the flat. Such a beautiful stylish flat and a wonderful lady greeted us. She has a zest for life, for food and for her country. It was so very pleasant and we could not believe how quickly the time went. We were able to make 3 wonderful pastas that we hope to make at home again and again. this experience was just perfect. I can not suggest an improvement at all. You'd have to know me to realize how much of a complement that is as I am normally quite picky. But, the way recipes were explained and the simplicity of it all was just great. Can't wait to try things when we get back home. She offered lots of variations and promised to share the recipes we made. I just can't wait to come back to Rome and do this over again trying some other options.
Absolutely an amazing experience - Francesca was exceptionally friendly and informative during the class and would certainly recommend the experience to others.
Would suggest this to anyone.
When you think Rome and you think cooking class this is the place to book. We shared Francescas home not a restaurant. When in Rome…..Francesca made you feel like family. The food was amazing. Best gelato we have bet had!! And we have had lots. And we made it ourselves!! All the thumbs up!!
Francesca is great! Fun to be with, super interactive, great cook and teacher. We left the class having learned alot, well-fed and on a high!
We had a very worm welcome, nice chat and started the class. Francesca was very attentive and explained everything very clearly. We learned a few pasta techniques and eventually sat down together to eat. Great experience after all. And we loved her gorgeous cats ❤️
This class was really great. Educational, delicious, fun, and in great company. We had 3 delicious pastas (with veggie options for the vegetarian in our party), paired with great Italian wines. Francesca was incredibly friendly and informative, answering our many questions about Italian cuisine. If you’re looking to learn how to make traditional Italian dishes and eat great food, take this class!
It needed to be more hands on and less down time. We didn't have a choice in dishes to make.
I surprised my mom with these tickets and wow did we have such a great experience. Not only was the food delicious but we learned so much about Italian cuisine. Things that we will for sure bring back home with us! Thank you Francesca for having us in your home, you’re truly amazing.
We had the most fantastic evening with Francesca! With our expert guiding us, we made spinach and ricotta ravioli, bolognese fettuccine and tiramisu, using a mixture of machine technique and traditional technique. Last but not least, we sat down together with Francesca and the other two students on our course to enjoy it paired with the perfect local wines. Francesca kindly sent us the recipes of what we had made together the following day. This experience was a highlight of our visit to Rome, and we felt so welcome and at home. We came home and bought a pasta roller the same week, and cant wait to experiment. We can only say thank you so much Francesca! Xx
Enjoyed every part from the hands on to eating our creations Perfectly matched wine to each course Meeting other tourists to hear what they had done on their trip Would definitely do it again
We had an amazing time!!! Our trip in Italy wouldnt be complete without this class! We felt really at home and who knew we could like that!
Francesca was a wonderful teacher! We thoroughly enjoyed her class. We learned how to make 3 different types of pasta. I had texted her before the class and asked if gnocchi could be one of the pastas we learned to make. Not only did she obliged my request, she asked us what our sauce preference was. That combo was absolutely perfect. The fact that she's a sommelier was a nice little surprise as she supplied the wine that accompanied dinner. She was a wonderful hostess and teacher. I highly recommend this experience!!!
This class is all you expect and more. Francesca is welcoming, informative and witty. We had 8 people in the group and she handled the late arrival of two guests who were lost with aplomb. We made three pastas and three sauces by hand - and I mean by hand (the pesto sauce was a team effort over 40 mins). When we finished we sat down to eat our efforts and Francesca paired each with a specially chosen wine. She’s also a sommelier. In the end we stayed till 10:30 laughing and talking like old friends(we were meant to finish at 9). If you get a chance please do this class.
Francesca thought us how to make 3 different types of pasta and they all were delicious. The group of people were so much fun. We had a great time!
The hostess was delightful. The food was delicious and Francesca was so knowledge about foods from this region!
We had a great time with Francesca, we learned how do cook three types of paste, it was delicious. we had a great time with her.
Francesca was an absolute pleasure to spend time with, and her recipes were incredible. She went out of her way to accommodate the menu requests from our group, and we had an amazing night with her. I would strongly suggest booking a class with her if she is available!
Francesca was great A+
We had a fantastic experience cooking with Francesca! Small group with three of us and delicious food! One of the highlights of our trip to Rome!
Accueil très gentil, chaleureux Bonnes explications Ambiance détendue Et pour finir on a très bien mangé ! Merci francisca !!!
This was the best part of our trip! Not only is Francesca a fantastic teacher, but she also gave us tips and secrets to help us perfect our dishes once we got home. The class is very hands-on and everyone was in the kitchen cooking. Her food is incredible and her recipes are authentic Roman dishes she learned from her family. Francesca is also a certified sommelier and her wine pairings were perfect. Her homemade limoncello after dessert was also divine. I would come back to Rome just to cook with her again! She is a treasure. Thank you, Francesca, for welcoming us into your home and sharing your recipes with us. (And start that YouTube channel so we can keep cooking with you!) ❤️
The host was good at including everyone (we were 8 in total, so it is not easy having everyone do something). The food was delicious and the recipes easy to follow, also when cooking it in your own kitchen afterwards. The host did a great job telling about the dishes and the commodities.
Had an amazing time. It was hands on, authentic and fun! Couldn’t ask for anything more.
We enjoyed several hours in Francesca's home making and cooking three different pastas: gnocchi, ravioli, and fettuccini with corresponding sauces. Francesca made the experience fun, non-stressful, relaxing, educational, and the perfect way to spend an evening in Rome!!! We would highly recommend this experience/class! The wines she chose to pair with each pasta were perfect!!! And her homemade limoncello and orangecello were out of this world!!!
Wonderful authentic experience! Highly recommended!
We had a great group and the hostess was wonderful! We had a lovely time, meals are simple enough to be recreated at home.
My brother and I loved our evening with Francesca making incredible food from scratch. We'll be investing in our own pasta machines on our return from Rome!
We loved every moment of our time in Francesca’s home. The conversation, the cooking, the stories of modern Italian life and the great people we met made it so memorable. Francesca’s warmth and humour is infectious and her Arancello is delicious! Do yourself a favour and book this experience. You will not be disappointed.
Talk about feel welcome is Francesca’s home. Francesca is bubbly and gorgeous and you can’t help but fall in love with her and feel very welcome in her home. We made a delicious meal, consisting of homemade gnocchi, another type of pasta and of course tiramisu. Wonderful food, paired wine and great conversation. I would highly recommend this experience. Thanks Francesca xx
Absolutely fantastic. Would recommend Francesca to all. The preping, cooking, pairing with wines and eating it all was amazing
So much fun! Such a great class! It was just the two of us but we learnt so much, laughed a lot, ate a lot... thoroughly recommend! Everything was so fresh and tasty! Three wines: one for each pasta which were all delicious! Thank you so so much for having us! We loved it- highlight of our trip for sure! Would 100-% recommend :)
Francesca's cooking class was amazing. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and the food was delicious!! Every dish we made blew us away with the flavour and quality. Francesca was so kind and welcoming and so much fun to spend the evening with! The whole experience was incredible I would absolutely recommend this cooking class to anyone!
This was absolutely one of the most enjoyable evenings that we had in Rome! Francesca is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and very personable. She is a Sommelier and thus has extensive knowledge on wine-paring. Would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone traveling to Rome! Once in a life-time event that we will never forget. Hugs to you Francesca!
Francesca is a warm, welcoming person who made sure we had fun while learning the essentials of pasta making. She was great with my teenagers and engaged us all with her sense of humour. We enjoyed getting to know our classmates; my family of 4 was teamed up with 3 other people. I found that 7 people in the class worked well, with everyone getting the chance to participate. I feel ready to start the great pasta-making experiment at home, and I learned some simple tips with sauces that I know I’ll put into play immediately. Thanks Francesca for adding extra spice to our Rome trip! Your class and delicious dinner will be one of our favourite memories. Definitely worth the price. :)
Obviously, you will see the Colosseum and plenty of art, etc etc. But sharing an evening with Francesca in her home, learning to make pasta and sauce from scratch, enjoying a meal, some wine and real conversation — this was the most authentic and memorable part of our trip. She’s charming and wonderful. Don’t miss out.
Our evening cooking with Francesca was wonderful. We booked the class last minute, and had a wonderful time making new friends and learning incredible and flavorful pasta dishes. Francesca is a wonderful teacher, and very patient. Her recipes are easy to follow, and I’d take another class from her in a minute.
My love for pasta brought me here at Francesca’s. Overjoyed that I made a great pasta recipe (my favorite Fettuccine al pesto) out from scratch matched with perfect wine. It was fun making my own pasta! A great evening indeed together with my husband. If you want to have a private cooking class, learning traditional Italian pasta recipe, with fun and expert teacher, then I highly recommend you take this course. You will definitely surprise your friends serving delicious and authentic pasta recipe at your home.
My son agreed, reluctantly, to accompany me to a Pasta Making class with Francesca. Before the night was half over, I could tell he was having a great time🙂. Francesca made everything so simple to understand. I was always afraid to try it because I was convinced it would be difficult, but she made pasta making easy. We made three pastas - one I can't spell but it was teeny tiny strands of pasta, also fettuccine, and ricotta and spinach ravioli. She also helped us make Arrabiata sauce and Bolognese sauce. It was all as delicious as any pasta we've had at restaurants here in Roma! When we're here again, I'd like to take another class to learn even more techniques in Italian cooking from her. I've been cooking for almost my entire life, and I know my way around a kitchen, but I still learned some very useful things from her. Try one of her classes, you'll be happy at the end of the night getting to eat all the food you've prepared, with delicious wine she serves, and to top it all off nicely, delicious limoncello!
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this pasta cooking class! Highly recommend it! Great host/teacher, food and wine!
What a perfect experience with Francesca! She opened her home and shared her skills and helped us learn to make three kinds of pasta and sauces. All along with great conversation and tips. We ended. By finishing the night dining together with great wine and conversation. Couldn’t recommend this class more to anyone!
We made three dishes, each of which were delicious! She also made a special cake for my friend's birthday and a side dish to go with everything we made. She offered wine pairings for each course, seeing as she had her Sommelier accredidation, she had wonderful selections! She also taught us about all types of pasta even though we had only selected ravioli to make ourselves. She loves pasta, but recommends selecting a main dish as well since it adds variety to the experience - we chose veal. We were inside her cozy Roman house, with her 3 cats, just a 15min taxi from the Colosseum near our airbnb. She was so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable - I would highly recommend!! Don't miss out on an evening in with Francesca!
All are good. Thank you so much.
The class was really good. The people that joined was funny and kind. Francesca taught us the basic things that we need to know to replicate the dishes in home, which is the most important part. The food was really tasty and we just want to learn more and more to share with our family at home.
When we first arrived in Rome, we went to a famous pasta restaurant that makes their pasta in a window so customers can watch while they enjoy their meal. I thought I would love to learn to do that. We had coincidently signed up for Francesca's class and learned that she had actually worked for the same restaurant making pasta. She is an amazing instructor and truly welcomes you into her home. Charming, informative, fun, and delicious are words that come to mind. My boyfriend who was with me is a chef of 40 years and he said she was spot on and he learned new skills from her. Coming from him, that was a real compliment. Would love to come again if we are in the Rome area! Great class. Highly recommend.
We made lots of great food, paired with terrific wines, and great conversation. Francesca was a joy, and the experience was a lot of fun! I highly recommend!
We had a great evening learning from Francesca - she is very knowledgeable, funny and patient. We made 4 wonderful types of pasta and I can't wait to put our new skills to the test back home.
We had a great time learning to cook pasta in Francesca’s home. We made three kinds of pasta over a three hour period. It was relaxed but we all had plenty of hands on time. She’s warm and welcoming and has a great knowledge of wine and pairing wines with food. Her home is really clean which was important to us. This was a highlight of our trip.
Francesca is a great host whose knowledge of Italian cuisine (and wines) is exceptional. Very relaxed night with some great cooking tips along the way. Highly recommend to others.
We were with the 4 of us which was really good because you could do a lot of cooking. In this cooking class, you make a lot of effort and that's something that is unique because most of the time everything is prepared already. At this class we did everything step by step. Moreover, it felt like a family home where at the end you eat and have a good conversation. I really enjoyed!! And the most important thing I have never eaten this good!!! (And the wine was fantastic) highly recommand This class! Thank you Francesca!
Amazing experience! Francesca was wonderful!!
Francesca provided a wonderful experience! I can’t wait to recreate what she taught us.
Great host and teacher with local knowledge and experience. Particularly liked that it was set at home rather than in a commercial kitchen as it felt more authentic. Delicious menu and great to try things that I’ll now be confident in making at home. Fun also meeting some lovely new people.
We had a fabulous cooking class led by Francesca (and the 3 cats that dominate the roost). Francesca led us through making 2 different styles of pasta dishes and an extra requested gnocchi dish.. and a Blueberry Semi Fredo Dessert.. all made from scratch by the whole group. Was a very hands on / group experience and we took away a lot of information and tips. Francesca was a lot of fun and also very helpful - leading the class by example, then getting everyone involved. Once all the cooking was complete, we all sat down and ate our freshly made dishes... and washed down with a white and red wine. P.S. Francesca is also an accredited sommelier and matched our creations with some very beautiful wines. I would highly recommend this experience.
Firstly, the location was easy to find. the chef was amazing, very patient and thorough in explaining the different between types of Pasta and showing how to make many types from scratch. The group was diverse and very friendly. The food was delicious and sufficient, and it felt nice eating home made pasta that you contributed in. At the booking level I felt the class was expensive but in the end it was worth it given the food was good, the company top, and the 4-5 hours we spent there! I would do it again for sure!
We had a amazing time cooking with Francesca and a great group of people we met during the class. The food was delicious. Overall a great experience!
Francesca is not only a very talented chef, she is also a warm and entertaining host making everyone feel at home in her home. We made three different types of pasta and sauces plus a semi freddo dessert. We then sat down to enjoy the dishes we had created with Francesca serving us and each pasta course was accompanied with a glass of wine that complimented the dish. This a hands on course and very enjoyable.
We had a fantastic evening, discovered how to great fresh pasta and learned from a master the tricks of real Italian cooking. Great company and some really delicious food and wine A memorable evening, made some good friends. Highly recommended. Thanks Francesca
I would recommend this class to anyone. Francesca is so welcoming, is a very good instructor and an amazing cook! We learned so much and can’t wait to cook it at home with our family.
We highly recommend Francesca’s class. We had looked through many other cooking classes before signing up for Francesca's cooking class. Francesca offers a lot of different dishes, and we liked the ability to choose the dishes that we wanted to cook. We made tonarelli, ravioli, and gnocchi. Francesca was all ready to go with the ingredients necessary and was set up to be very efficient with the prep. We watched her prep some of the basic vegetable and meat steps, and she demonstrated the steps to make the different types of pasta and let us go for it. We got our hands dirty kneading the dough, peeling potatoes, mixing sauces, and forming and shaping the different pasta shapes. She finished the cooking of the sauces, while explaining everything, and we had a lovely (carb-heavy) meal of 3 pastas with 2 small bottles of wine that Francesca picked out. We were interested in learning about different kinds of pasta, but you may choose differently if you want a coursed, restaurant style meal. Francesca is very experienced in cooking and pasta-making, and it showed in her attention to detail as well as her lesson plan for the evening. She is also very intentaional about selecting ingredients that are not only fresh but produced from local farmers and meat/cheese shops. Her flat is easily accessible by a ride on Metro A. While on a map it is located a bit outside the ancient center of Rome, don't let that deter you. As a bonus, there is a great gelato shop a block from her flat which makes a great dessert stop. And she has beautiful and gentle cats. They kept to themselves for the class, but we got to pet them at the end as we were leaving. I would recommend taking lots of photos and even some notes during the class. Francesca sends the recipes via email the next day, but she also has lots of tips that she gives during the class itself. The class is scheduled from 5-8pm, and the cooking portion went until a little bit after 7pm. I've uploaded some pictures of the completed pastas. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the completed dishes because we were too excited to eat them.
Definitely one of the best memories and best pastas by far, of our trip!!! Loved the authentic, in-home atmosphere and the personal touch with the small group, hands on instruction with Francesca!!! We made Taglioni with Lemon Cream Sauce, Gnocchi with Pesto Sauce, and Ravioli stuffed with a ricotta, fresh mint leaf and fried zucchini mixture with a zucchini sauce! We enjoyed our incredibly delicious dishes with wine and laughs! Francesca had a variety of pasta dishes to choose from when we signed up. Her home was easy to find and she responded in good time to our questions and requests. Francesca emailed the recipes to us! I can’t wait to make these delicious recipes for my family and friends!!! Thank you Francesca!!!
Francesca welcomed us into her home and was the most gracious host of a wonderful cooking experience. She had the ingredients all prepared and ready to go and we started cooking right away. We felt right at home, and even though our cooking experiences ranges from “being able to boil an egg” and “already know how to make pasta dough”, we all had something to learn from Francesca. She was funny, helpful and an absolute joy to learn from. We really felt at home with her and it was wonderful to learn from a local Roman. If you’re into fluffy kitties, you may even spot one of her three fluffy cute cats that hang around in her apartment. We definitely recommend Magic Francesca’s cooking class!
Francesca was the most wonderful teacher and host! She invited us into her home and made us very comfortable. She was bubbly and friendly and you could not hope for a better teacher. Her recipes are to die for and you really appreciate the passion she has for cooking and sharing her skill with others. My sister and I had a wonderful time and cannot recommend her enough. From home we were emailing, and Francesca's responses were quick and very helpful. She was accommodating with our recipe requests and gave us ideas on how to change things to make new recipes. If I am back in Rome, I would love to see Francesca again to learn more! Thank you!
We really enjoyed coming wth Francesca. She is a great host so friendly. The pasta that we cooked was amazing. So much fun making gnocchi and fresh ravioli. We had a great time and learnt a lot.
My friend and I did a three course cooking class and it was very fun and easy to follow. Francesca is super nice, hospitable, and a great teacher. This was definitely a highlight of our time in Italy!
Really took the time to get the best ingredients for the food. The recipes were delishish, the meal was AMAZING, and it was super enjoyable to make :) Recommend for everyone.
Francesca was an amazing teacher! We had a lot of fun making the food and it was delicious! We recommend this class very much!
I can’t believe we made 3 different pastas - gnocchi, cavitelli, and orichiette and 3 different sauces!!! The gnocchi was my favorite. They were so light and the Gorgonzola cream sauce was easy to make and so delicious. Francesca is an excellent teacher ! I can’t wait to try making these at home.
It was amazing to learn how easy making a fantastic elegant meal from scratch was. The desert was super easy and really tasty
We went to Francesca with our 2 daughters, age 11 and 9, who both enjoy cooking and good food. We had arranged with Francesca do make Tonnarelli alla carbonara, Ravioli alla Scapece con ricotta, zucchine fritte, menta, pecorino preparate con salsa alle zucchine and Millefoglie al cioccolato. There was nothing too complicated but it was great to learn the little things which make the difference between real carbonara and what we usually make of it at home... The ravioli were sooo good, it is Francesca’s own invention, with the mint and the fried zucchini. We will definitely make these again back home! I should also mention that we were very well welcomed by Francesca in her nice apartment, and that she served a very good white wine.
Franscesca was great out family have a Fantastic experience cooking as well As having dinner The food was delisous Amd we had fun making it
Francesca was knowledgeable and fun, and the food was delicious.
Tradition, simplicity, raw materials excellence: this is my philosophy, coupled with a welcoming and warm personality, passion for food, wine pairing skills and an elegant environment close to the Vatican zone and the metro station.
P.D.: I have cats in the house, in case you're allergic :)
