The visit to the market was very interesting. The herbs in the garden were wonderful and it was a great experience to smell all the different ingredients. The instructor was very kind and explained the cooking in an easy to understand way, and I was able to make Khmer dishes. They were very delicious. I highly recommend this class.
I booked this course for me, my partner and my mum as something fun to do one evening while we were in Siem Reap. We ended up being the only ones in the class and had a really hands on and personal experience which was amazing. We were collected from our hotel by tuktuk and taken to a local market which was fab, then driven to the location of the cooking class. All the staff involved were super helpful and really made our evening one to remember- plus the food was delicious! Perfect activity year round, but especially in the wet season as the kitchen is outdoors yet still well covered.
It was a pleasant and enjoyable experience in a quiet place far from the city center. Here, almost all of the ingredients we cook with are grown directly in the garden and farm next door, so we can eat the freshest dishes. During the cooking class, all staff spared no effort to provide cool bottled water, protection from insects, and temperature control. They thoroughly protected us from almost all hazards such as knife cuts, scalding, and oil hazards were eliminated while cooking. In particular, the teacher's English skills were very good, and he told us many interesting and detailed stories about Khmer cuisine, as well as Cambodia's history, culture, and citizens' lives. I highly recommend this cooking class experience to anyone visiting Siem Reap.
It was very interesting, not something very difficult but we had a really nice time. Syvone, our teacher, was very sweet and funny and guided us perfectly.
The cooking class with Sorya was a great experience! I loved the market visit and learning about all the plants in her garden. Each person gets to choose which 4 dishes they want to make which was nice. All the food tasted really great! I can't wait to try making the dishes at home 😊
My friend and I really enjoyed this cooking class, our teacher went to extra trouble to accommodate our menu demands. The garden tour and ingredient explanations were really informative. Sonya and Bok Choy were absolutely a delight to spend time with. I highly recommend this experience.
Sureya is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable hostess. The cooking venue was comfortable and clean. Ingredients for each dish were prepared, making the cooking experience easy. Having a starter, mains, and desserts ensured a tasty and filling lunch meal. The visit to the local village market was the most interesting too!
Very friendly team.
Our cooking class with Sorya was great, walking through the town and seeing the market was super interesting. The food was very delicious and all the ingredients were very fresh!
This class was great. We had a tour around the local market first, then off to the family home where we had a tour of the garden. Beautiful vegetables and herbs which you get to harvest some to go into some of your dishes. This class offers options and they were more than happy to accommodate us vegetarians. Not forgetting the food is delicious! Such a lovely family/ hosts
From the beautiful, serene location to the prep and instruction and friendly chefs, this was a great experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, and each person gets to choose his/her own menu. Strongly recommend!
Très bien organisé. Bel endroit. Jolies rencontres. Pick up à l'hôtel. A recommander.
Nice cooking class with such lovely instructors, thank you Sorya and your Team for this experience! The class took around 3 hours with a short market visit on the little local market of Siem Reap. After that, we could choose our menue, vegetarian & vegan options! It was very yummy. One point to improve would be a receiptbook already printed, to look into and read while cooking.
That was a very good start of the day. I like cooking and participate in cooking classes. This one was excellent. Tuk tuk took me from my hotel and with rest of the group we rode to the cooking place where we firstly went to the local market to get some explanation of ingredients that we will be using. Later we collected herbs from their garden and started to cook four meals that we could choose from the list. Everything was very well explained in nice and friendly atmosphere At the end we enjoyed food that we cooked and when was finished tuk tuk took us back to hotels We also get a recipe book in pdf, so now I can cook it again at my home
A very pleasurable, informative and delicious experience. The local market tour offers a plethora of vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, etc… Everything you could possibly need for your gourmet creation. The staff are all friendly and extremely helpful. Very laid-back and comfortable environment. A small garden provides the necessary accents to your entrees, likewise the attention to your food prep detail and presentation are equally noteworthy. From my tuk tuk ride to/from the hotel, market tour, cooking lessons and my subsequent wolfing down my creations… a very memorable experience. Wished I could have stayed longer. SIX STARS!
I would highly recommend the cooking class at locals home, absolutely worth trying. The booking experience is very good, quick confirmation. Driver pick up on time, looking for the guy with brown T-shirt says “Khmer cooking class at local’s home”. Local market tour is a good opportunity to feel the local vibes. The local house where the cooking was hosted is very neat, with a lovely vegetable garden where they grow some of the cooking ingredients, herbs especially basil; eggplant, etc. Oyster mushroom is also grew in house, we get to pick the herbs, harvest the mushroom before the class starts. All “staff” are so friendly and helpful, good selection of recipe which is more than enough food for everyone. We are very happy with what we cooked & enjoyed the whole process very much. Our facilitator (I know their names but not sure how to spell them) is very helpful, also send the e-recipe to allow us reproduce the dishes at home. Excellent service, good, experience. Thank you!
It was a great experience to do that cooking class, you could choose your own menue. First went ion the local market and we’re able to pick veggies, mangos, leaves and mushrooms from the farmers garden. Everything was very appealing, the explanations detailed and easy to follow and the family was very, very friendlzt
Cooking at the beautiful kitchen of Sivorn was an amazing experience, so fresh and Friendly!! This is a 6 star experience. The majority of the ingredients are from their garden the environment if fresh modern and airy. Sivron's English is perfect and she is very knowledgeable and let's the students do the cooking. My 4 course menu took 1 hour to prepare and I enjoyed every bite...it was alot of great tasting food! I admired one of her tools and before I left she had run to the market and purchased one for me! Cannot say enough about the 3 hr experience, even the tuktuk ride is a pleasure!! Please call for a class it is a great way to learn about Cambodian cuisine.
Very useful and well organized cooking class. Cozy and super clean place where we cooked and ate. Stunning was the visit to the true local market, far away from touristic places. Strongly suggested!
It was such a great half day, our teacher was super nice, always making sure we were okay, answering our questions and the dishes was great.
Lots of food options provided , way too much to eat and super friendly and helpful staff
The class was even better than I’d imagined. Sorya, our cook, and her team are so welcoming, sweet and professional! They arranged for a pick-up and drop-of at my hotel, so no hassle finding her place. Her place was very clean and comfortable. And I learned how to make Cambodian Amok, which was mu aim. After class Sorya took us to her local market, which was a very nice experience as well.
We enjoyed the marketing at the local market. It was an eye opener. Sorya is attentive to details in explaining and cooking. The dishes that she guided us was excellent and the food that we cook really taste like local dishes. The family in the local's home was warm and hospitality. Awesome. We definitely recommend our friends to have her for this cooking lesson.
Cambodia is known for its fascinating cuisines and colorful dishes, a trip to Siem Reap wouldn’t be complete without at least having the chance to try their delicious food.
On this special activity, you won’t only get to try authentic Khmer food but you’ll also learn how to cook their dishes!
