We booked to attend a 3-hour cooking course with Chef Assia. Our party consisted of 2 adults and a 13-year-old. The experience was fantastic. Chef Assia and her son were very friendly and put us at ease. They explained the correct process of making Morrocan tea and the reasons why. Then a taster of tea.... gorgeous! We then had an explanation of herbs and spices which we didn’t know before. Even the teenager was interested.
Then came the cooking. The cooking stations were all laid out for us clean and well equipped. Chef Assia makes it all look so simple. We learnt how to make bread, a chicken and lemon tagine, 2 starters and a dessert. Chef Assia and her son were so patient and regularly checked on all of us in the group. They looked after all of us but really helped our teenager when she was having problems cutting.
Once cooked we had the chance to sit in the beautiful restaurant next to the beautiful fire. We ate our own food which we had cooked and we were brought little appetizers from the kitchen, which were amazing. Our 2 other students were wonderful as well and it was lovely to get to know them over the diner.
If anyone is looking for a place to learn how to cook a tagine, definitely this is the place to go. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the food is amazing but also a great place to let teenagers learn to cook as well. Thank you chef Assia....you have inspired us to cook!!!!!
