Experience Mochi-Making in a Local Tokyo Home!

Join me for a hands-on lesson that lasts about 2 hours, where you can enjoy making and tasting five different kinds of mochi: Fruits Daifuku Mochi, Three-Color Dango (mochi on skewers), Warabi Mochi, Isobe-Mochi (savory grilled mochi with soy sauce and nori seaweed), and Mochi Ice Cream.

During the class, you'll also learn about the deep cultural significance of mochi in Japanese tradition, providing a wonderful gateway to understanding Japan.

I am a certified instructor with the Wagashi Promotion Association Japan, well-trained to teach Mochi and Nerikiri Wagashi in English.

"Excellent"
Kaoru Sama is a wonderful teacher and is also very sweet. She took us through the history of mochi and the seasonal and festive relevance of it. She was very patient and spent a lot of time to give us hands on experience in making many varieties of mochi, both sweet and savory. Cooking is more about being intuitive than following a recipe, and Kaoru sama teaches you intuitiveness necessary for making mochi. P.S: go for the class on an empty stomach because Kaoru Sama will fill you up with more mochi than you can handle

Kaoru sama took us through the entire history of mochi and also taught us about more varieties than I knew existed. She is very sweet and a great teacher. Cooking isn’t just about a recipe, but intuition. She teaches you what to be intuitive about. I recommend going on an empty stomach because Kaoru sama will give you more mochi than you can handle.

The class is a 7-minute walk from Komazawa-daigaku Station, which is just a 7-minute train ride from Shibuya Station in Tokyo. The detailed address will be provided after you book.

Despite being located in a residential area, Komazawa-daigaku Station offers convenient access from popular areas such as Shibuya, Aoyama, and Omotesando.
