Washoku Club provides courses for Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi, Wagashi and home-cooking. Cooking classes are held at the chef's home. As classes are small and have a homey atmosphere, feel free to participate even as an individual. All of these courses will take you to the amazing world of Washoku.

" Learn how to make Japanese food from a professional chef! "

What I liked: Furuya-san’s focus on what he is teaching inspired me to really learn all the tricks so that I would be able to make it at home after the class. He made sure that I got all the techniques down before moving on to the next step in the cooking class!
What to know: Furuya-san was a chef in a restaurant for many years and he knows all the best techniques to make restaurant-quality food in a home kitchen.
Good for: Anyone interested in focusing on nailing Japanese cooking techniques with sushi, sashimi, tempura, or wagashi.
How to get there: Short walk from Fujimidai or Shimoigusa metro station.

"Fantastic and authentic"

Course was very professional, thorough and enjoyable. The experience didn't let us down and we had a lot of fun. I would highly recommend! Thank you Mr. Motoi Furuya san!

"Sumptuous and Satisfying!"

This was the highlight of our trip! Definitely! The instructor was very knowledgeable and his skills were amazing! Our class was held at Motor's house and everything was organized and already set up for us. His techniques were so cool! He first introduced Japanese culture and the importance of Japanese spices to enhance each dish. We were able to prepare and recreate Sushi, Tempura and Sashimi and other home cooking! They have such a homey atmosphere and you dont feel any pressure at all. Definitely recommended! Now i am confident in preparing Japanese food for my family.

"Nice"

We've had a nice afternoon with our chef. It took us 4,5 hour (1,5 hour longer than planned) to prepare sushi, sashimi, omelet and tempura. The chef spoke English but not enough to explain everything. Our meal was great, we've had a nice cooking experience.
