Cambodian cuisine boasts a rich diversity of flavors distinct from those of its neighboring countries. The dishes reflect the country's bountiful natural resources, with rivers, lakes, mountains, and the ocean offering a variety of fish, animals, insects, and vegetables. To truly understand and appreciate Khmer cuisine, it's essential to become familiar with these raw ingredients in their natural state and to learn and practice traditional Khmer cooking methods. Together, we will prepare Amok, a popular Cambodian dish. You can choose between vegetables (suitable for vegetarians/vegans), fish, or chicken.
The class will be in a secluded green space in Steung Meanchey, tucked away from the bustling city down a small street. This open kitchen allows us to cook with a traditional Khmer stove using charcoal, providing an authentic culinary experience.
