Learn to recognise edible wild plants on this botanical walk, by opening up your senses to identify different flowers, leaves, fruits, habitats, and odors.
You will learn about the nutritional properties of the herbs and plants, their traditional uses, and the anecdotes associated with them, as well as methods and rules for collecting these plants safely, sustainably and in full respect of nature.
We will focus in particular on edible plants, teaching you how to transform them in the kitchen into original and tasty dishes. You will learn which toxic plants to avoid and show you how to identify them, so as to avoid unpleasant confusion.
Here are the scientific names of some of the plants you'll meet along the walk: Hypochaeris radicata, Bellis perennis, Sonchus oleraceus, Viola odorata, Plantago lanceolata, Urtica dioica, Parietaria judaica, Ruscus aculeatus, Sambucus nigra, Lamium flexuosum, Geum urbanum.
We won't eat any plants during the Botanical Walk, however you will be able to use these wild plants to cook dishes at home after our tour.
