pavilions. Just 20 minutes away from the city center, Grandma’s Home Cooking
School is located in a small charming Saraphi District village.
Start your morning by visiting the local market; our instructors
will introduce the basic ingredients used in Thai cuisine and how to select
them. In our organic farm, you will learn more about Thai herbs and vegetables.
Not only picking up some fresh ingredients by yourself, but also experience how
to harvest mushrooms, collect chicken eggs and enjoy a farming-life
experience.
Our cooking course offers famous Thai dishes such as Tom Yam
(Hot and Sour Soup), Kang Kew Waan (Green Curry), Pad Thai (Stir-Fried Rice Noodles),
Gang Massaman (Massaman Curry), etc. Select one refreshment and one dish from
our five categories; appetizer, stir fry, soup, curry, and dessert. Our experienced
instructors will demonstrate techniques step by step first and then
it’s your turn to cook your selected dishes.

The complete experience of a cooking class in a relaxed atmosphere. In this 7-hour class I learned so much about ingredients and spices used for Thai cuisine and how they impact the food's taste and quality. Would highly recommend for those who want to fully learn about the specifics of Thai food.

What I liked: Loved the chef who was very insightful and provided answers to all my stupid and non-stupid questions. The facilities are new and have a superb garden where the main ingredients are picked before starting cooking. The dishes tasted really good and we were all proud of what we managed to prepare. I also liked that it was an extended class, meaning that we could eat and cook slowly.
What to know: As a vegan I was taken well cared of, since the chef paid special attention on the ingredients. The location is a 10 min drive from outside of Chiang Mai.
Good for: People who want to have the complete package and not just a crash course about Pad Thai.

A group of 4 of us took the full-day cooking class with Gobby as our instructor. He is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about food. The recipes were well designed and easy to follow. The class was taught in English but the instructor could speak multiple languages. It's definitely the best part of our trip in Chiang Mai. Highly recommend this class!!
One thing to note, bring an empty stomach to the class. There's so much food.

The ingredients were fresh, the kitchen space open and airy, thus the heat was no problem! There were only five of us in the group and our instructor, Gobby, was funny and very communicative, so we were never bored. 7 hours well spent :)

"Best day of my Chiang Mai vacation"
Chef Rachel is the best, picked us up at the hotel and showed us a very clean fresh market near the farm. Honestly, I want to spend more time in that market and do more shopping.
The farm is way better than expected, spacious and relaxing.
Chef Rachel patiently demonstrated each dish and I’m very surprised by the final result, delicious and aesthetic.
We enjoyed our food at the big table and had a great time making new friends, a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
I highly recommend this to travelers who love Thai food and seeking a place away from the crowd.

"One of a Kind Experience"
I was with my friends and we booked a cooking class at the very last minute. And it was such an amazing experience. We had a planned vacation in Thailand and we wanted to enjoy our very last day. So we asked our hotel if they can refer any other things to do. Grandma's home cooking school was the biggest highlight of the event. The place was so inviting, full of organic herbs and veggies. We made 7 dishes, all the ingredients were neatly prepared and brought to us on decorative wooden trays. We also had a market and farm tour. They were also able to squeeze our vegetarian request. We were very well taken cared of, staff were accommodating.

"Excellent, fun, insightful, well organised."
Beautiful location, quite place with wooden huts surrounded by an organic garden with veggies, herbs and fruit trees.
The tour guide/cook spoke very good English, she was enthusiastic, funny and knowledgable. We were a group of 6, not too large. We made 7 dishes, all the ingredients were neatly prepared and brought to us on decorative wooden trays.
The price was absolutely fair. Highly recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed our cooking experience with cook Mike. From the educational tour of the local market, the stroll through the organically home grown garden of herbs, vegetables and fruit to then preparing our own delicious Thai favorites. "Soooo good, we would go back 10 times over!"
This place is brand new and they haven’t really gotten their name out too much which is probably why you don’t see many reviews. They produce all their own veggies, eggs, herbs, chicken right on the farm. The people are amazing!! They were so nice and so knowledgeable. The farm uses no chemical pesticides and you can tell the employees are very passionate about this. They also have all brand new facilities, the farm is so cute! Also the most important part, the food was amazing day you are taught to make all the sauces from scratch. Please please please choose this cooking class, you will not regret it!!

"Delightful cooking experience outside the city"
The cooking school is in a very spacious and beautiful farm away from the city. The owners have obviously put a lot of efforts to make sure the visitors have an enjoyable experience. Our instructors Joy and Mike were amazing personalities who were not only fun and knowledgeable, but also passionate in what they do. You can tell a lot of thoughts have been put into the planning of the classes and the experience. Would be happy to join their classes again!
