We loved our tour with Dara. She was a darling guide, super knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with.
Ho showed us three interesting markets in Mexico City. Delicious quesadillas, tacos and tamales were highlights ending with a Medical tasting.
Our market tour exceeded all expectations. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the markets and took the time to answer all of our questions both about the markets and many other things. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the markets of Mexico City.
I really liked that the group was small. It made it much easier to get through the markets. The guide was very personable and informative. Nice selection of items to taste. All around, it was an enjoyable 4 hours.
The tour was a really great experience. The local fresh food market at the start was amazing. Such a great variety of foods (and coffee) to sample. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The second market was very unique and fun to see. The final market offers items that you truly won't find anywhere else. The mezcal tasting at the end was the perfect way to cap off a fantastic tour. The guide (Ho) was very friendly and his knowledge was A+. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a less touristy tour that goes where the locals go.
It was great. It was just the two of us with the guide who told us all we need to know about Mezcal. We drank one shot of pulque and 10 shots of Mezcal! (proper full size shots). It was so interesting to discover such a range of flavours. I highly recommend.
One of the best tours I’ve done in Mexico City! The host Ivan leads you through three wildly different markets to explore the authentic (and wonderfully chaotic) side of the city. It was great to sample local street foods as well as more adventurous items like insects. The Sonora Market was especially unique, with its stories of mysticism and superstition. All in all, a must-do in CDMX!
This was one of, if not the best, tour we have ever done! It was fast paced with tons of tastings and fun facts about each. Orson was our guide and he was great! The communication before the tour was also excellent. We visited a couple of markets and went from stall to stall learning about different ingredients. We got to taste 6 different kinds of mole powder, a couple fruits, coffee, tamale, taco, quesadilla, fresh tortilla, and tamarind flavors. We got to smell/touch several other unique ingredients and at the witch market we all got a small amulet. We missed the last market because we had a flight to catch so we missed a couple of tastings. The tour included absolutely everything, including hand sanitizer, and the entrance fee for the nicest bathroom in the market. There was never any pressure to buy anything and we really didn't linger anywhere long enough even if we wanted to. There were a couple "sit down" snacks where we got a chance to get off our feet while we watch the food be preped.
Great overall, and I don't write that lightly. The guide knew so much and was very attentive in leading the group though the difficult logistics of the markets. So much food & drink included which means that the price is really a value to tours that might cost less up-front, but are probably not so 'all-inclusive'.
After coming back from Mexico City, our group all agreed that this was a highlight of the trip! Our tasting guides, Ho & Ivan, were hilarious, super sweet, and knowledgeable. The class was informative, incredibly fun, and we walked away with a slight buzz and huge smiles. Do not miss this!
An amazing guide with great attitude and knowledge. Loved every moment of it.
I would attend another of Ho's tours in the future. Perfect mix of experiences. The tacos bisteak and the tacos al pastor were to die for.
From a small city in the middle of the desert called Mexicali at north-west of Mexico, moved to CDMX long time ago.
Mixing my passion for food markets, travel, and Mexican history I've decided to share the colors, smells, and tastes of Mexico, and to create authentic experiences for all of those who join me.
