Paella was originally a dish invented in Valencia by the lower classes. This is why the ingredients vary between recipes depending on what was available to the people making it. While farmers had fresh vegetables and meat from small animals, fisherman mainly had fish and other seafood.
Our experience will start at the "Mercat de Russafa" fresh market to get the seafood for our paella. This seafood comes from the fishing ports near Valencia like Denia. Next, we have a five-minute walk to the cooking school. During this walk, you will learn the curiosities of the neighborhood and its architecture.
Once in the class, our local chef will share with you the secrets to cooking seafood paella and will guide you in cooking your own paella in the perfect way. Also, you will have the chance to learn how to prepare sangria, a popular wine punch.
Finally, it's time to enjoy the food! Drinks, salad, tapas, and desserts are included.
