Sreng and Kimlay have tons of knowledge on Khmer food and are great at sharing it with others. Not only will you cook delicious food, but you will also receive additional information about the history of Khmer food and the details of ingredients. The class is also very flexible. We were able to ask to cook a specific dish we were interested in and during the class they explained how to adjust the dish depending on your access to ingredients. In addition, the location is just outside the city and it was nice to see a different part of Phnom Penh. Highly recommend!
Amazing activity to learn how to cook a traditional Cambodian meal and desert. Host was very friendly and even made us taste fried ant as well as rice wine. Overall great vibes. Would 10/10 recommend!
The spot is gorgeous and really cozy! The cooking class was exquisite, I learned a lot of the Khmer culture and some of their history. We had a brother and a sister to help us cook and explain everything. They took the time to share their knowledge and their time, we are grateful for their hospitality:)
Phnom Penh Spice was founded by siblings Kimlay and Sreng, who grew up in the Cambodian countryside. Rising at 4 AM each day to help their mother sell porridge and noodles at the market, food became a central part of their lives from a young age. Later, they moved to Phnom Penh for their studies. Along with her exceptional cooking skills, Kimlay majored in Tourism and gained experience working at the Rosewood Hotel and an airline company. Sreng became a licensed tour guide and now works for a local NGO. The siblings are eager to share the flavors of Cambodia with you and impart their knowledge of Khmer culture and cuisine!
