This is the philosophy behind our private cooking experience, where you will leave Capri’s glamour behind for a few hours, emerging yourselves in a truly local experience.
The experience begins with a photographic viewpoint facing the Amalfi coast. Upon arrival at our “home sweet home” waiting for you will be a refreshing aperitivo of locally sourced produce, organic olive oil, and Ester's vinegar. Here we will discuss the hands-on activities that are part of our culinary experience. Our approach is “easy and homemade”,therefore recipes are simple to follow and replicate with the use of basic equipment and with the best tool on the market: your wonderful hands. The wine selection offered is the result of a meticulous research of regional natural wine producers. The outcome of ancient processes adopted by contemporary artisans who are passionate and respectful of their land and what grows on it.
During this class you will learn how to make stuffed Ravioli Capresi from scratch and for dessert you will learn how to make our family version of the Caprese lemon cake straight from my mother’s cookbook: La Cucina di Ester.
Our aim is to make sure that once you return home you will be able to find the right ingredients to create a great meal following what you’ve learned. We will end our time together enjoying your creations on our terrace with plenty of smiles and a giveaway to keep us always in your heart.
Tasting of locally sourced artisanal cheese: Caciotta Sorrentina, organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and my mothers organic vinegar made from Piedirosso grapes. Paired with a glass of regional natural wine.
A treat from the house: Paired with a glass of regional natural white wine.
Ravioli Capresi: Handmade Ravioli stuffed with Caciotta Sorrentina, eggs and marjoram herb with organic Piennolo tomato sauce. Paired with a glass of regional natural red wine. (Vegan Option available)
Eggplant Parm: Layered fried eggplantwith mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil baked in the oven.Paired with a glass of regional natural red wine.
Torta Caprese al Limone : My mother, Ester, recipe for a gluten free almond cake infused with the intoxicating aroma and flavour of Capri lemons. Paired with a local after dinner liqueur.
