Thankyou Masayo for an amazing food tour and sharing your knowledge about Japan. We got to eat a range of foods while also hearing about the culture. We highly recommend this tour and Masayo to anyone visiting Tokyo :)
We loved our food tour with our guide, Hiromi. We did this on our first full day in Shibuya and it was a great way to get to know the neighborhood while also trying some great local cuisine. Hiromi was so knowledgeable and thorough throughout the tour answering all of our questions and guiding our experience according to our interests. Our favorite spot was definitely the standing sushi bar! My partner has a more adventurous palette than I do, and it was not an issue. Hiromi was able to order items that both of us would enjoy, as well as make special orders for him for the more unique options. Make sure to also wear a cute outfit! Hiromi will make sure to capture a ton of photos of your experience - we even got a cute photo of us walking through the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Something we would not have gotten a photo of otherwise :). Thank you again, Hiromi!
The Ueno Food Tour was amazing! Kaori was my guide. She is knowledgeable, and her English is excellent. I learned about the origins of popular dishes like Nikujyaga. There was a GENEROUS amount of food to eat, and we stopped at 5 different eating establishments, each a specializing in specific dish - my favorite of which was the wagyu beef yakiniku which was served in an air conditioned restaurant at a table with a built-in grill. The beef was served raw, and since it was thinly sliced, it took just a few minutes to grill. It was without a doubt a place I would not have found on my own by just walking the streets of Ueno or hours Googling. The walking itself was not strenuous nor rushed, and we walked at a calm yet efficient pace. Kaori-san was kind enough to take pictures throughout the tour, and I am grateful she did. Like me, she takes pictures of the food before eating.
The guide and trip were amazing. So. Much. Food! And all of it was delicious. 10/10 recommend and bring your appetite! Don’t fill up on the sushi!
We decided to do a food tour on a whim while in Tokyo. After having no luck finding a daytime food tour online that didn't have to be booked at least a day in advance, we called Washoku Club. Adam, the owner, answered the phone and personally took us on a private tour that day. The overall experience was incredible. He was a phenomenal tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Every single thing we ate was fantastic. Our only complaint is that we wish we'd been hungrier so we could have enjoyed even more of the wonderful dishes. If you want to have an amazing and unique experience in Japan and you enjoy food, do yourself a favor and call Adam. You won't regret it.
Washoku Club Tour with Adam was the best thing we did in Tokyo because he knows all the streets of Tokyo and he's a great guide for foodies. He introduced us with great Japanese foods that everyone should taste and also he did these in very traditional and special places to also understand the atmosphere and lifestyles of Japanese people. We tasted many yummy Japanese food. Additionally Adam is very experienced about Tokyo lifestyles , he showed us all the faces of Tokyo . Please do yourself a favor and communicate with Adam when you visit Japan. He's the best .
