"Amazing Vietnamese cooking class"
We have had an amazing cooking class where we learned so much about how to recreate the great Vietnamese dishes at home. They made all dishes in a fully vegetarian version (even vegan fish sauce) which we really appreciated. The food was super flavourful yet still quite easy to make. Everything was well-prepared and it was very easy to follow the instructions.
Even all my questions I had beyond the recipes were answered perfectly.
An absolute blast to finish off our amazing Vietnam adventure, I highly recommend!

The class was a small group. We received instruction about the kitchen tools, ingredients, and the process, then we made the dish ourselves. Each student had his/her own prep station and wok.

The market was very informative and a nice introduction to the day (although very hot and smelly - I would advise to take a hand fan and some water) then we really appreciated an air conditioned taxi followed by a very relaxing entrance into the cool cookery room with a nice seat and cold drink. And finally, the main part of the day was great too!! Our head chef was WONDERFUL! Really patient and helpful and all of the food we made was delicious! 100% recommend :-)

The class was very nice as was the market tour. Learned new ways of cooking certain foods and some basics (how to devein shrimp - yum!). Make sure to check the daily cooking class menu that’s listed online as some people were disappointed to not be cooking certain foods (it changes daily). The class size hovers around 10-12 people which for me is a bit large and doesn’t provide as intimate of a setting as some classes that I’ve done in other countries. The instructors/chefs spoke pretty good English so they were easy to understand and very helpful.

Amazing class and awesome people. My cousin invited me to take part in this class and i am glad that i did. I was able to experience Vietnamese cooking while embodying Vietnamese culture with me. I was able to learn their unique technique and we were given the privilege to use Vietnamese kitchenware. They were all accommodating and friendly. We also had a market tour and they took time explaining each ingredients that we used.
The whole concept was traditional and we learned a lot about Vietnam culture.

Chef Oanh first took us on a tour through the market and pointed out many of the different foods that are commonly used in Vietnam, including herbs and vegetables that I was unfamiliar with. Then we went to the cooking studio where she led us through several different dishes. Each course was delicious! Chef Oanh again was very helpful throughout the cooking, and we had a lot of fun. At the end of the course we were given the recipes to take home and try to make again. I highly recommend this class!

It was my first time to join a cooking class and I did not know what to expect.
We had 2 challenges for Chef Ly and her team since 1) my friend is strictly vegan,
2) we would be arriving late for class by about 1.5? hrs coming from Cambodia (heard that right)
Ms Tham and I exchanged several emails to set expectations on both sides.
When we arrived, the rest of the class was enjoying their 2nd prepped meal, while ours was already done for us.
We followed through by joining the second and third part of the class, including a catch-up dish which we'd missed.
I'd say the team had excellent planning and time management to accommodate all our requests with minimum disruption to the class overall.
Luckily, since we stayed back, we enjoyed a quick chat with Chef Ly on the ingredients mostly used as vegan cooking alternatives which proved very useful for my friend.
Fast-paced but enjoyable, and warm and accommodating staff makes this class commendable.
Plus points is its quaint, historical location, as the restaurant (Hoa Tuc) was formerly the Opium Refinery Building.
Would go back with my sister in law and raving about it back home!

We took the Saturday class and it was really a fulfilling experience especially for us set of friends because we don't usually cook in our home country. This cooking class enabled us to connect more with the culture of Vietnam because all the food and ingredients used were what was generally used by locals in their everyday cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire process of cooking your own food and getting to taste them right after preparing them! The chef and the rest of the staff during our class were accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended activity when you're in Vietnam!

I had lunch before going the class, so I could not eat the food that I cooked. I recommend not to take lunch before going the class to enjoy your food.

My wife and I were in Ho Chi Minh for only two days and wanted to experience local food and the local market first hand. We chose to meet the chef at the market before the class and she was very helpful in explaining how the market worked and how locals would use the market. Coming was made easier for those less experienced, and everything has a vegetarian and vegan option. Really appreciated all the insight and fun we had learning about the food. She also gives you a recipe book with the things you made to take home so you can make it again.

I booked a Friday morning cooking class with a market tour. The tour highlights some unique ingredients in Vietnam, though not too different from those in China, where I come from.
The cooking class was held at a very nice restaurant / historic building with every ingredient and tool well prepared, so I have no worries to cook vegetarian food with others together.
Chef Oanh and her colleagues are all nice and helpful! A very memorable experience. Definitely recommended.
And it's cheaper to book here than from the cooking centre!
